@Iggy what's the height from the top of the bed rail to top of the roof when collapsed?

I don't know off the top of head, but the truck clearance height is right at 7'.

OMG, I'm freaking out over here about V2. I caught up on the thread again and updated my Google doc that has info/pics from only Iggy or Overlanerd from this thread so I can go back and read that content separate from this entire thread.

The Go Fast (Honjo) looks like a nice, lightweight, simplified version, but I really like the full access on the side doors with this as well as the spec of the heavier rubberized nylon as well as the lower overall height and more flush to the truck cab. The Go Fast also looks like someone made it in their garage with 80/20 and some extra steel tubing for the frame.

I am excited to hear about how the v2 construction is since Iggy mentioned that "it's not made using a welded frame like the current configuration. It's much more streamlined from the interior just like the exterior of my current one". (link to earlier post)

I can’t wait to share more info with you guys. It’s been a long time coming. Almost 2 years of planing, from paper to V1 to V2. When we release info you are all going be stoked and understand the wait.

It'd be rad to know who is building these, I have no interest in the camper option but a shell that doesn't extend over the cab.

I said it before, I'll say it again. It's in the thread. If you are serious about wanting a custom camper as you mention, you'll want to read the thread and see all the details that went into this. You'll also learn the fabricator as well as the story behind how the tent came to be.

Yes, but for those who pop into the thread asking "WHO MADE DAT" are probably looking for T****n and don't know about V2 or the change in construction :)

I read through this a while back and am still following the camper build. I can not remember if there was mention of a price point.... I am not looking for a hard number or anything but I am curious where this falls on the price scale when compared to a used/abused flippac ($3000+), a GFC ($5000+), and an AT Habitat ($8600+). AT Habitat is far out of my price range but I have been following the GFC and your build closely. Can you give us any insight to where it will fall on that price scale? Maybe to the nearest $500....?

We are shooting for significantly less than than a Habitat, but a bit more than what GFC is offering. We are making the camper very affordable and will be right there with a quality camper shell and RTT combo.

Reading the last 2 posts made me think about a design issue. The GFC looks interesting but I don't like the style of camper where you have to dismantle the bed panels in order to stand up in the back of the truck. To me the real advantage of the flippac and habitat is that the bed flips out of the way and you don't have to move things around to stand up or lay down.

I would love to see a system similar to the current setup as 4xOverlands troopy. The top hinges up and the bed also hinges up under the top. This allows the bed to stay intact when it's easily moved out of the way so you can stand up.

Seconding this, having a "standing area" along with a bed area is the best part about the Flippac. Iggy had a standing area in the back half of the truck bed (V1), not as large as the flippac, but still useful (see below)

Oooh! I didn't realize the bed flipped up out of the way on the troopy, thats rad. Found the clip, for those wondering about the troopy:
