At this time I owe them no money
And if it comes down to it
When the truck is released fixed or not
I'll just have it towed home if needed and let it sit til I can replace the rear and completely

Ah ok so there is a chance that they might replace it in its current state free of charge if they can determine it failed due to the plagued third gen issues?

If there wasn’t a tsb I’d say your SOL, but with all the diff problems they had with 3rd gens I feel like they SHOULD replace it.

Think back to the rusted out Tacoma frames, dealerships loved them, because Toyota was cutting a check to the dealership to cover each one. The dealership gets a negotiated rate on anything they can charge back to the Manufacturer. Rear diffs have been a problem for the Third gen on some vehicles, there is plenty of evidence on stock and lifted vehicles to prove it. Just a mentioning of Magnusson-Moss typically squares them away. Don't directly threaten legal action, but rather, ask to speak with a manager and have them explain to you why it would not be covered. You could always request a signed statement from them if this is their position. (Things like these scare businesses). Document everything, it'll help you get your money back. If they take you seriously, they will treat you appropriately and realize you aren't going to back down. They are trying to intimidate more than anything. They do it all day. They can get more money from the consumer than the manufacturer in most cases. But with anything, good luck. You can always file suit after the repair has been completed. Though ask them this logic, if the repair or solution to the problem is to replace a manufacturer's part with the same manufacturer's part, but not suggest repair or change the modified components as well, how could it be the fault of the other component? And what is to stop it from occurring again? What is the term and terms of the warranty on their repair should it fail again?

I already called corporate and after they spoke to the dealership they felt there was something fishy going on and immediately opened me a case and escalated it to the next tier
They have 24 hours to contact me at corporate for the next steps (their timeframe not mine) lol

And I mentioned to them during the conversation that it seemed like they were deceiving both me and the service advisor working with me and keeping both of us out of the loop, and they it seemed they were trying to blame my suspension modifications as reason for the problems. He agreed something was not right and that they can't make those accusations or assumptions without proof

Talked to Erik Moore last night of Moore's metalworks (the guy who built my rear set up)
He is helping me figure out what to order from camburg for a full floater with disk brakes and all the goodies
And we are discussing changing the rear of the truck to a short course 4link with fuel cell. (Which is kinda what my long term goals was)

So my rear suspension set up may be for sale soon
Bed cage, shocks, leaf springs and hangers
All ready in a bolt on condition

As I get my truck back from Toyota I will further inform everyone

Might wanna buy a beater. To, ya know, go places while your truck is strung out in parts on someone's driveway/garage

If anyone is interested in the set up or know someone who might be please post here or direct that person here
Because if I sell the current set up it will further help me pay for the new set up

    Been looking into that too

Money is kinda tight as it is and I've been selling everything I can to put more money in the bank to get me back on the road reliably

Well, I knew that you funded the build quite a bit on your own. Buying a $30k truck and adding $10k plus in parts should hurt anyone's wallet!

Yeah I have good credit but being involved with basically being an EMS vehicle for vets on my own $$
Doesn't leave much to help pay down my incrued debt from the trip/parts/labor

I want to find a secondary vehicle
But getting this one back on the road is more important
And currently the most cost effective way seems to be upgrading ahead of schedule so as to avoid spending money on parts that won't stay on the vehicle for more than a handful of months

    Yes I see the irony

I have to agree with the buy once, cry once philosophy of parts as well. Best of luck sir. Hope things start getting better for you.

    As of this morning
While I am sitting here waiting to pick up my truck and have it towed home

    They have decided
    They can't find anything
    They can't fix anything
And have voided the warranty on my diff and on my transmission
And since showing up to wait
My light bars in my truck
    "Malfunctioned" and melted the wiring
