So wait I don't get it...they didn't find any issues...yet they wont fix anything? How do they not do anything even if the truck didn't violate the warranty? Man that is some bullshit.

    I am quoting them here
"Well they saw your truck lights were on, tried to shut them off and couldn't and before they could disconnect the lights manually they melted"

Why did they turn your lights on? They didn't turn themselves on.

Your diff is under a recall to be replaced. Why isn't it replaced?

They claim you voided what particular warranty or what part of said warranty?

I'd be getting a boys in blue escort out of there if this was my truck. I'd be livid.

    Or they'd fix my vehicle.

What lights do you have on yours? I have had all of my lights on for numerous hours at a time...which I would suspect you have relatively new set of lights? I think they must have pulled some shit. Man I hate dealers for the games they try to play.

So they won't admit that your diff is fucked and not operating properly?

You better have them verify, with your own visual and physical inspection, that there is fluid in all driveline components before it leaves that garage!

I would assume corporate got some sort of official technical documentation of their analysis and summation of fault from the dealer? If not, then it sounds like the process may not be complete for you to leave.

I have no idea how to handle this at this time.
There is too much going through my head to think properly.

They are going to put my truck on a tow truck
Tow it home and it will sit in my driveway. It is pouring rain, I don't have the ability to mess with lighting and wiring while it's raining especially if there is a electrical short.
All I can say is please say some prayers for me tonight and send some good thoughts my way cause right now I don't know what the fuck to do

Have them show you, while your under the truck, that there is adequate fluids in all components before it gets on that truck.
My opinion, it shouldn't be leaving that dealer without operating under it's own power with you behind the wheel.

This is some bull brother, but I will send some good vibes as well. Maybe this is the final storm to get over before your truck will be set right. If you have the energy to, I would follow up with the rep for Toyota Corp and let them explain to you how they are ok with giving your truck back in its current state. All things considered, they owe you that much.

This is pure ignorant corporate greed by the dealer, not exactly Toyota themselves.

Come what may, but loosing my cool would still be doing something at least

I agree man, I would at this point see how that Toyota Corporate through this experience has been satisfied when they willingly got engaged into this in fear that the dealership was trying to pull some shit.

I've seen more success in favor of the customer on this forum by contacting corporate than getting a "no" answer from corporate.

I totally get that, but I think corporate wanted a "technical explanation" of how this diff failure was NOT related to the current recalls related to customers with stock third gens.

I feel if the dealership was skilled enough to understand and diagnose these issues, then they would likely find similar attributes to the recall to where a senior tech could have made that call. That being said, who knows how much political bullshit comes into play at this dealership as it looks like they have been putting in the extra work to dodge a bullet.
