I heard that charging stations don't work in freezing weather... plus battery goes down fast if you tow.. Not good.

You know the sad part of that - I wouldn't even trade him if it were just straight up.

To lure in suckers that were hyped on the newly introduced product.
I for one would expect my truck could be Offroading in mud terrain worry free of the "electric in water" issue.

My question is why do Rivian’s have to look like that?

I'm amazed by the folks who buy an EV who don't have access to home charging.

The head lights are different but I can look past those. The DRL that runs across the front is what looks out of place for me. Not just Rivian, Lightning has it too. Stealth EV would be much more appealing if I was intrested in the electrified propulsion side of an EV. The lack of a fuel door, and a subtle BEV badge would be enough for anyone who needs to know what type of vehicle they a working with.

I don't like how green cars have the blue accented badging that is very gimmicky. Why does a hybrid or EV driver care if someone else knows what kind of vehicle they drive? It's not the buyers fault that's on the manufacturer. Rivian and Tesla both skipped the gimmicky badging.

The overall profile of them isn't too awful looks close to any other DCSB or 4dr SUV nothing some bad lightning can't fix. Rivian skipped the gull wing doors, why Tesla why? The lights and the funky wheel designs don't help IMO. Then they have those pop out door handles I have more disdain for their function than form. Rivian trucks can't be all that aerodynamic where some smoth door handles are going to give you that much more range. Like that little diffuser on the side mirror support of the 3G Tacoma. I think the diffuser looks cool, I wouldn't miss it if was gone, and barely notice that its there. I just don't think it's doing anything measurable in the MPG department.

I wonder if the tow company tacked on a carbon credit fee to offset the cost of their diesel fuel since they had to recover an EV?

I am sure they do but they don't read the manuals these days or the dealer haven't told them how to charge. Each car can be sold with the adapter for home charging.

I am sure new tow trucks will have charging stations in back so they can charge your car for a fee. Or free if you have road service membership. The existing tow trucks may have charging station installed.. if not, they will get new tow truck with it. In meantime, they can tow your dead car to your home or your preferred drop off location for charging.

If you want a super capable off road vehicle straight from the factory look at what the military uses.

I'm talking about people who don't live where they have access to a charger. Where they only avaible parking is on the street, appartment complexes with out chargers or lack of chargers. Why would a privately owned appartment complex install vehicle chargers? They would have to raise every tenants rent, no renter wants to pay higher rent. The complex can't legally charge the EV driver higher rent. Their could be some outside intervention for section 8 tenants, but are they buying and driving EV? Probably not. More 1st world problems, EV haven't been thought thru when it comes to mass adoption.

I think it's more lucrative to tow the vehicle to the charger drop the car and let the owner waste their own time charging it. I wouldn't invest in the mobile charging model.
