Illum circuit fuse?

Make sure you are getting power to the 5A panel fuse.

 

Confirmed approx 12vdc

 

Then you’ll need to start probing connectors.
I don’t have access to the connector list or locations.

I have some diagrams I saved off a while back...I will head that way. I was of course hoping it was a smaller feat.

 

Thank you I'll review this after I pick up the kiddos got to make a run.I'll tell you it's really odd driving without any lights in the lower area of the truck.

 

My guesstimate is something failed in the ground control (rheostat) or there is a major ground fail since all switches share a common ground to the dimmer.

 

Could he continuity check ground from the connector to the chassis?

 

I thought of that, but it would by-pass the rheostat and ALL the tied grounds would go through at same time. Isolating one connector would require the ground on that switch connector to be removed...

 

Hmm. Jump out the rheostat for confirmation?

 

It's not a separate switch, it's part of the Multi-Information Display/Instrument Cluster...

Even if it wasn’t, it’s still expensive. (2nd Gen)
But at least it’s “replaceable”.
3rd Gen has modules for everything it seems?

What do you mean exactly as out of the loop? Did you remove it?

 

That's the right answer. Follow the steps backwards. The most likely fix.

 

For troubleshooting yes, removed.

 

I will head down this route next. I check a few more unrelated fuses and relays not expecting a result and that was the outcome.
