I was thinking of looking at these or Rigid for my bumper. Would I be able to run these as a fog light? Or do they put out too many lumens to be street legal?

My understanding of legality is it is done by watt rating. Not output. I do not know what the max wattage is. I think it 55 watt.

Please do! I was looking at your site tonight. 40 is too big. I don't have a roof rack. and the 20 just looks tiny. I already have two hells 500's in my grill, so Ive been wanting a 3 inch for the lower valance.

Hmm okay. Well if they're illegal for the street do they make covers for them?

To answer your question, yes I can get a hold of opaque covers for the light bars and pods.

For the questions regarding legality, I am not an expert to vehicular codes or laws so if anyone has qualified knowledge please chime in. Here's what I found so far.

According to California Vehicle Code Section 24400-24411:

I believe this allows you to have 2 additional auxiliary lights in the "fog light" area that do not need to be covered. Refer to 24411 on the bottom for which lights require to be covered.

This section refers to the amount of lights you are allowed to have running at any one time. A total of 4. Meaning if you have your headlamps on you can only have 2 other lights on, Headlights + Fogs = 4. Of course the law also states you MUST have your headlights after dark anyways so you can only have two other auxiliary lights on, for example 2 fogs. This means if you have stock fogs along with additional auxiliary lights used as fogs, you can only have ONE set of those fogs on with your headlights.

I believe this essentially refers to roof mounted "off-road" lights like light bars. Light bars would fall in this category if mounted on the roof because they are not within the 16-42 in requirement in section 24402 above. Therefore they must be covered with an opaque hood and turned off. And of course this also limits the amount of lights to a total of 8. Or 4 additional lights counting your headlamps and stock fogs.

The off road lights ( other than factory) do not have to be covered however they can not be turned on while on a public street whether its in your neighborhood or some other street. If they are covered and turned on would exceed the four light limit if you have headlights + fogs. No more than four lights total, off road lights do not qualify as part if the four lights ( factory lights only headlight + fogs is ok ).

Oh you guys were asking me about shipping. I was confused at first. Our website has an easy to use and accurate shipping estimator, just punch in your state and zipcode. I've replied to the last two inquiries though.

Discounts are ending tomorrow at midnight. You won't see prices this low for the pods or 6" light bars again! I'm also running low on the 6" I've almost got the group buy information set up, expect it to be posted later tonight.
