Unless you are hell bent on the blind spot monitoring system, you could just add blind spot mirrors.... thats what I did on my truck..... they are even toyota mirrors from a rav4.

I already have some similar mirrors. Work fine just doesn’t have the backup cross alert traffic like the one above has.

Is that mirror from the current model Rav4? I really like its shape as it blends in well with the mirror.

I may do it if @caribe makaira knows where to get number 3,4,5 easily. I already use 1,2 for the turn signal mirrors

    For the interior harness installation:
    1. GREEN wire connects to the vehicle’s RIGHT TURN SIGNAL positive wire.

    2. YELLOW wire connects to the vehicle’s LEFT TURN SIGNAL positive wire.

    3. WHITE wire connects to the vehicle’s REVERSE lights.

    4. BROWN wire connects to the vehicle’s PARKING LIGHTS positive wire. If vehicle has auto or daytime running lamps see last page of this manual

    5. RED wire connects to vehicle IGNITION.

    And this?

    Autolamp supplement

If your vehicle has auto or daytime running lamps you will need to hook the brown wire from the RDBS-1500 ecu to the headlamp switch or BCM. Make sure you verify this wire with a multimeter or airbag safe test light. (Not at the parking light circuit at rear of vehicle) In some vehicles you may need to install a relay to make sure the RDBS unit receives a positive signal when the parking lights are on and 0 volts when the switch is off.

Would this be correct for the tacoma? pin6 & 14?
    1. Attach the BLUE CAN HI wire from the ECU to pin location 6 on the vehicle’s OBDII connector.

    2. Attach the BROWN CAN LOW wire from the ECU to pin location 14 on the vehicle's OBDII connector

My pin 6 and 14 on my 2020 appear to be
    ObdII
    pin 1-3 blank, 4 white /black, 5 white/ black,6 blue, 7 brown, 8 blank
    pin 9-13 blank, 14 white, 15 blank, 16 yellow.
    best I can tell.

    1. Attach the BLUE CAN HI wire from the ECU to pin location 6 on the vehicle’s OBDII connector.
    2. Attach the BROWN CAN LOW wire from the ECU to pin location 14 on the vehicle's OBDII connector

You plan on locating the module at the rear bumper?

    1. RED wire connects to vehicle ignition. Would that be a 12 volt source fuse box or a specific wire.

IGN means ON when key is at ON and/or start. Only two sources in engine bay fuse/relay box. All other fuse sources are always ON (hot). All others are at the cab fuse box.

I meant the module that receives the signals.

I may have missed where the brown wire would go? I have drl’s

BROWN wire connects to the vehicle’s PARKING LIGHTS positive wire. If vehicle has auto or daytimerunning lamps see last page of this manual.

    last page states!
