I am too..really 'stock-ish'..but I do think that folks here on TW (or maybe the new car culture) thinks everything is a 'mod' when it is really an accessory. I wouldn't consider changing wheels or adding a TRD skid plate a mod. Maybe folks here are insecure and want to brag about modifiying trucks when they are really accessorizing. Stock-ish is a good thing. I am in the process of retrofitting EFI into a 74 Bronco and that modification is a real PITA. I enjoy having a stock drivetrain in a Tacoma.

If you found a 66 Mustang in a barn with period correct equivalents of what we call 'mods' but the original engine, transmission, interior, and body panels were all there, it would be sold at Barret Jackson as an unmodified original survivor with some nice old accessories.

If you pulled a TRD Pro out of a bubble in 30 years with a KDMAX tune, wheels, and some Meso stuff, even with 265 75 16 tires a bedrug and a topper, I don't know what it would bring but they would sell it as an unmodified vehicle.

So please, enjoy a KDMAX tune and don't look back.

I paid $750-DIY.... to say 'the jury's still out' on how I feel about it would be my personal best understatement of 2022.

Can you say more on why you feel that way. I have a 6MT and everyone is saying a tune is like buying a new truck. But it seems most people have the automatic. Definitely getting gears after bigger tires but I’m skeptical on a tune.

Congrats on the new truck, MT was definitely the right choice.
