I'm good with the access cab and 6' bed if toyota wants to screw me on an alarm system i will buy the Nissan i can't keep on with the dealership and own a winch. f them do they want to sell me a truck or an alarm system that's the issue on the table right now.

aint that the truth! you can always use more bed space if you are working the truck and that's what i'm buying it for. toyota is trying to sell me alarm systems i don't need though we'll see what happens tomorrow but this is bs it's looking like a Nissan purchase now plus i'll save 5k and more right off the top without all their electronic bs.

I prefer the AC looks over the DC, but I prefer to be able to sit in my seat when the back doors get opened so I opted for DC. Just wanted to be able to have one truck that would last a variety of family conditions instead. Whatever you think is right, do it the first time man. I have a TRD OR DCLB. I love it. I always ferry people/things around. Back door is used on a frequent for the doggo.

Both great trucks, but I wouldn't trade my DCLB for anything. Its gotten me everywhere I want to go and the space to do so. Like those has said if you plan on a family etc the DC makes the most sense, but I went DCLB for my current 2017 and my previous 2007 and I would have regretted any other config I think.

It now appears i can't buy a tacoma because they are trying to sell me an alarm system plus a package i don't want. I'm good with that i'll buy another Nissan without all the electronic garbage and save 5k at least!

Access cab is for introverts. If you have big groups of friends who do shit together/family/babies/kids etc, avoid the access cab. If you maybe drive 2 people to the airport a few times a year like me, but usually it's just you and/or partner and you dislike groups, access all the way.
I enjoy trips with others, but they can take their own rig.
When my folks come out to Montana, however, I know I'm going to wish I had a double cab. But that's once a year.

I've owned a 2011 access cab and the 2014 double cab I still have. Go double if you haul people or dogs, access if you don't. I really miss the 6' bed and would almost suggest a double cab long bed but it sounds like off-road is top on your list and a shorter wheelbase will help. Also don't get a Nissan, those things are shit compared to a Toyota (in my opinion).

You should breath man, you are quoting yourself. They say your not crazy until you start responding to the voices in your head, does it work the same on a forum.

40k for an access cab out the door seems like a rip off to me. Take to the internet and find the truck you want for a price that is worth it. Also search for a good used one. Don't let the dealership control you, they are their for you.

I know and that's what it's come to i'm fine with a Nissan Frontier 4wd it's not the best but at least i'm not ripped off on an alarm system and electronic safety garbage i don't need. The deal should have been done this week now it's time to explore other options. Toyota isn't selling these tacomas to a working man anyway not from what i have seen.

I actually looked at one in Arizona it was a second gen but you know i worked hard and the warranty means so much now. I am in no rush it will come down to who wants my business and the Nissan dealership is very friendly. I look back on the times i have been stuck and having a 4wd monster isn't a deal breaker. I really like the simplicity of the Nissan anyway. I will visit the dealership tomorrow morning and see if this alarm garbage has been straightened out and perhaps visit the other dealership in my area. This deal should have been done by now upselling killed it imho i don't have the time and it's left a bad taste in my mouth. I really needed this vehicle out on a lot clearing job next week so now it's costing me money...

I don’t know if this has been mentioned or not, but you’re former military right? Get a USAA account if you don’t have one. Then use TrueCar through USAA. I got an amazing deal on THE 2017 4Runner I wanted by using that. I was shocked. But as already mentioned, it depends on the dealer, there are many more that are very happy to deal compared to others. My folks just had a great experience buying a new RAV4 because the dealer was awesome. Send me a PM if you feel like checking out a central Missouri dealer and I would gladly pass that one along. I bought mine in PA and would recommend them too, but neither are much help to your location unless you’re in need of a road trip.

Just shop around. The time invested will be worth the buying experiemce.

As for which cab....I’m a childless dude that likes to be a bit different. Therefore, I like the Access Cab myself, doesn’t seem to be as many around. My 2003 Tacoma is an Xtracab by choice. Plus they look like pure sex with the right topper! Good luck!

I think you're right maybe the Lord doesn't want me to pound out a brand new truck just yet and i don't deserve it! These new tacos are probably too pretty for me anyway...i'll play it out but that that second gen taco in Arizona is looking better and better. sigh

Thank you so much and you're right! It's been exhausting with the upsale at the dealership my Frontier is fine for now. I had no idea buying a new vehicle was so much haggling but that's ok i figure the Frontier will last me another 5 years anyway. It would have been nice to have a new vehicle this summer but i'll get over it.

You sound like your own worst enemy OP.

Trying to sell you an alarm system and everything is all stuff every dealer requires them to run through at every purchase because that’s the stuff that makes them profit. Just say no and stop getting triggered over nonsense.
