I'm buying a set of winter rims and blizzak snow tires. Do I really need tire sensors???

255/70R17 work pretty great as well.

Not bent out of shape at all. Perhaps you're reading something into my posts that isn't there.
    Would a 29" tire in a 245 have a bigger or smaller contact patch than a 30" tire in a 245 (like a 245/75/16)?
If, as you have stated, a smaller contact patch is better, which tire would be better?

How many variations would it take to invalidate this statement?
This is a dedicated winter tire. Like winter use only.
How many manufactures make a tire in this size that are 3 peaks rated?

(Probably my last post, as 245/75/16s are just the best tire size ever, regardless of actual conditions)

Yep when you live in snow country you learn that pretty quick. Fat tires suck in any kind of real snow.

As far as I know there's nothing out there comparing the same snow tire in different sizes on the Tacoma. Plus, it would be highly dependent on what conditions you typically encounter as skinny tires are better in some scenarios but fat tires work best in others.

Main thing to think about is a snow tire in any size that fits your truck will be miles ahead of any other tire in any other size, bar some extreme off-road conditions.

235/85/16 DuraTrac, e rated, 3 peak mountain snow flake, get them siped when I buy them and run year round. They are a 32" tire.

The tire size of 1/2 and 3/4 ton trucks for several decades.

The newer, rubber valve stem, TPMS sensors for Tacomas should be plug and play and not need programming or cloning. The truck should read them but may take 30 miles to figure out the old codes aren't showing up and the new codes should replace them.
