Thanks for all of your help, guys! I ordered some Toyota 50/50 Antifreeze on Amazon for $25. Should be here in two days.

Just over 6k since the last oil change. Mobil 1/Toyota filter.

Sounds good. For what's it worth, I use Royal Purple (always have) and change every 5,000 miles with a new K/N oil filter.

The 5k oil change might be overkill, but it makes keeping track of when a change is needed pretty easy.

    +1 for royal purple!

I do the same, every 5k or 6months. Usually don't get to the 5k mark due to a company truck for my daily driver.

Royal purple and wix XP filter all the way!:taco:

That goo is broken down oil, switch to a higher quality oil. I make a lot of short trips in between highway trips and I've never seen that in my engine. I've been using AmsOil signature series oil and changing it once a year in the 3 years I've owned the truck. I live in Western Washington which is similar to Vancouver Is. weather and moisture wise.

Every gallon of gas burned produces a gallon of water, it's normal to see condensation in the exhaust until everything warms up.

Have you ever thought of getting a catch can? I installed one on my truck. You should see the shit that comes out of that thing.

I have thought about getting a catch can. I'm pushing 100k now, so I figured it would be a waste. I guess it's never too late. Anyone know of a decent brand?

You change your oil once a year... Am I reading that correctly?

Yes AmsOil is rated for 1 year or 25,000 miles. As I drive less than 10,000 miles per year I change it once a year. No ugly sludge in my oil filler. I've added pictures.

Oil filler after oil has been run 1 year and about 8000 miles.

Oil filler and dipstick, no oil added in 1 year of service.

You need to get more drive time in to get everything warm to cook out the moisture. A catch can may also help.

Have any of you tried removing your filler neck to clean it out? Mine isn't nearly as bad as some of the photos here, but there is a coating brown sludge in there. I think that fill neck just doesn't get as hot as the rest of the engine, so the moisture in it doesn't really burn off.

Maybe one of the TW machinists/builders can start producing new necks in aluminum or stainless tp get rid of the problem of it not getting the neck warm enough to cook off moisture.

Market it as hey, this isn't really a problem, nobody sees it except for the guy that changes the oil, and it would go away if you take a short drive or two, but instead of driving your vehicle outside of the trailer park, we can sell you this metal pipe thing for the low price of $69 or three easy payments of $45.99.

Yep. Would probably sell very well.
