I'm considering getting a supercharger for my 3rd gen. As much as i hate paying people for labor, I don't currently have a good place to work on it.

If I did pay someone to do the work, how much should I expect to pay? I live in northern VA so it's likely going to be on the high end of pricing.

Labor hours, at full shop rate. Plus added things like fluids, plugs, etc. that are needed and/or recommended.

I’d guess around 2k total but not sure how long it takes to install. And that would be assuming no problems arise.

They have installers listed on their website.... Your best bet is to give them a call and get an actual price.

Also a local No. Virginian, if you need a spot to work on it and a helping hand, PM me. I've heard the instructions included are like a bible. Also interested in Magnusson for my truck this could help sway my decision AND you can pay me in beers or Trident Layers

I’m just south of you in Chesapeake. I did the job by myself in my driveway. It took two days and I had all the tools I needed, nothing special is required. I think anyone who can change their own oil could do the job themselves. The instructions are incredibly good.

If it was me I would have a shop professionally install it .being that big of a job and how expensive these things are I would not take a chance . Gives you that piece of mind having someone install it and you have a warranty if something goes wrong .shop around performance shops to get the best deal on install .

The only person who works on my trucks is Ryan over at OTRAMM. https://www.otramm.com/ Give him a call and see if he'll give you a quote on the install. Check out his youtube channel to see the kind of work he does.

Took me about 12 hours of work spread over 2 days to install mine in my garage taking my time. Knowing how to do it and working without distractions I could probably get that down to around to 8 hours though.

Install isn't difficult at all - only things I'd suggest not included in the kit: change oil since you have to drain it down anyway, coolant to fill the SC, serpentine belt, and spark plugs.

In Va here as well, I've considered it many times over and I'd go the same route. The cost is the only thing keeping me away. SC + Labor + extra's, you'd be looking at nearly 10k.

not sure how many miles you have on the vehicle - the "warranty" is from day one of service and mileage - so if it is 3yrs or older or has more than 36K miles the only warranty you get is a one year on parts. As others has stated the instructions are very good and the install is not that difficult if you have a place to work and tools. I did mine - I don't trust local shops (dealer or other) and I know it was installed without issues or errors. See if @Bascoma is willing to lend you a hand. The installation is part of the fun - yes fun!
