Yeah that was a tough one. I considered doing the lift myself, with spacers but when I started looking into it I realized that at 50k miles it was about time to replace the shocks anyway. Then to get it to be level with the rear add-a-leaf I just decided to go all the way. When all was said and done coil overs adjusted all the way out, control arms, all labor by ORW, and alignment was about 2k front end only. The back end was 500 with shocks and new leafs. heres the a pic.

So basically I got a custom cat back system, and the headers are cat forward. In other words I replaced everything except the Y pipe with the 4 Cats (I still cant believe these things have four catalitic converters) I live in Cali so I still have to pass a smog check next year. Any way here is a pic of the system as best as I could get.

Its not much to look at but I think that all the systems out there are just polished chrome 3" tubes that look good and are easy to sell. 3" tubes from my research on air flow dont provide the best back pressure for our trucks and performance. They just look good. I wasn't going for the flashy loud exhaust, I just wanted the performance with out effecting gas mileage. To answer your question though, Yes I did notice a difference but I was not really impressed until I added the URD MAF Calibrator. When more air flows through the engine the computer struggles with it. I would recommend making sure your computer is happy before messing with the mechanics. But then Im an Electrical Engineer and a little biased maybe.

Any ways thanks for all the comments.

    Thanks for the reply.

I stayed at stock 2.25" plumbing and just cut in a Dynomax muffler in place of stock. I really can't justify the headers as I feel the truck runs great as set up and getting 18-19 mpg around town driving. Haven't had a road trip to check mileage yet.

18 to 19 is good with a 4x4. Also swapping out the muffler and staying with stock size was a good idea. The headers are pricey and installation is not easy. If you havent done so your next big bang for the buck is a Cold Air Intake.

I used the box from Taco Tunes. it was easy and already fits behind the rear seats pretty good.

I'm going to say "done" on intake and exhaust. The AFE oil free OEM drop-in, is a semi-CAI as far as I'm concerned. One little bend in the flow and a lot of filter surface area from outside air through the fender.

I've already modded this truck more than the last three combined. My wife is starting to get concerned!;)

I have a 08 Tocoma DC and I am planning on a lift and new wheels and tires soon. I am planning on the American Racing Cannon in chrome and I am wondering if you were able to use the TPM sensors that were on the TRD rims or what you did. The American Racing rep said they would work on the cannons.
