As long as load range D tires are on that trailer. Trailer manufacturers are sneaky. They will install C rated tires ant tell you the remainder capacity comes from the tongue (TRUCK).

The TW threads are all over the place when it comes to towing. Some folks think towing 1K is dangerous while others say towing 6K dry is walk in the park. Set the truck up right, use common sense, take it easy and you should be fine.

After nearly 100 posts this is what I've gathered. I guess my frustration is that I would be willing to potentially live in whatever I build six months of [or maybe even the entire] year. I opted for the combination I did because I can fit in two parking spaces, I already had the Tacoma, it's still small enough to get into some remote areas and after years of different traveling combinations feel this would be a great all around fit and compromise. If I were going to get a different TV I would have just gone with a 20 foot trailer and an E250 and been done with it. I certainly wouldn't have opted for a 14 footers if I weren't limited by the TV and in all honestly may have gone with a 40 foot gooseneck and called it a day. So it's just frustrating to be invested in one thing because of another and here such different opinions.

That said it was like this with my FJ40s too, a little different but in general with 4x4ing, guns or anything else no matter what you say it's going to be the wrong way of doing it.

Wow, this little Jeep is way more hardcore than it seems like the Tacoma! Or maybe this dude is way more hardcore than many of the people driving a Tacoma. Dude isn't even using a WDH and he's towing this thing all around the Country. I feel way better after seeing a few videos like this.

I'm a huge Toyota fan and cant ever see myself selling my Taco but if you are planning frequent camping trips towing a trailer, get an F150.

With my business, I tow max weight with my Tacoma regularly. I don’t have any suspension mods or WDH or extra super duper trans cooler. I tow a 16’ tandem axle loaded with wet white pine timbers. The 4.0L has ample power to maintain 60 mph up grades without even down shifting. A lot of people here trash talking the Tacoma saying it shouldn’t be used for towing it’s limit. The Tacoma is every bit a work truck and deserves far more credit than a lot of people give it.
Also, for those of you towing a trailer 75 mph... and complaining about shity fuel mileage, on both counts fuckin stop it! I don’t care what truck you have, speed kills.

Thanks man, I love your style!! You're like me, it's a truck, you bought it as a tool and use it as such. I've decided I'm going for it for my 2018 travels and will adjust accordingly from there. I am starting to think some people just got a lemon Tacoma or something with how different of experiences people are having.
