Are you looking for ideas, inspiration, assistance, or just something new to read? There are a few pretty extreme rigs over here. They're just not a huge topic of conversation. :)

I wrote a post on how to search and put a link in my signature (at a mod's suggestion) in large letters as a gentle reminder. If others did the same, someone new might be more likely to see it and try it out. The tutorial is in the "New Members" section but I think most people don't read too much in there. My search tutorial has only received about 480 views.

I think asking someone to use the search or pointing them to the tutorial is good, but it should be followed up with a link that answers the question.

The biggest problem I've found with any search engine, and forum search engines in particular, is link overload. Someone will do a generic search like Bilstein and get 500 plus links most having nothing to do with setting them up properly, so the searcher gets quickly discouraged and posts a repeat question.

Knowing how to limit the number of irrelevant links greatly improves the results but it requires constructing a good keyword list or going into the advanced section of the search engine to apply some limits.

People at work are always amazed that I can come up with solutions to their problems. It's given me a nice reputation as an answer man. All I really do though is search Google and spit it back to them.

    Nothing yet, brand new!
Hi everybody, just wanted to introduce myself. I'm new to the forum.

One question I have, when I start my truck there is this ticking noise from the engine that sounds like lifters. Anyone know what that might be??
