Sorry if this is the wrong forum but I tried to create a thread on the Tundra Forum here but i was having trouble doing it. I couldn't log in ??? Do I need to register to post about Tundra's that's different from this log in?

    Anyway.....

I seen a 2007 Tundra that looks beautiful in the ad. I'm going to look at it on Sunday the day after tomorrow.

Do you guys have anything good or bad to say about the 2007 Double Cab 4wd? 252,381 Miles...

I'll have more info Sunday but the price is great and the Truck looks great in the pictures. I'll be paying special attention to the frame. Hopefully I can get a shop to look at it before I put my money down, but I'm excited about this one and I'm hoping you guys can help keep me grounded.

    Thanks

You are posting in the wrong forum. No, I don’t know how to remedy that. This is probably the best resource of knowledge to comment anyway. That said, post a link to the ad.

The price is too good to be true is all I can say for now. No rust the ad says....We'll see....Obviously I'll know more after Sunday. Owner wouldn't give a phone number or address but told me to message him again on Sunday when "I'm serious" probably another red flag but he's local to me and I can see that by what I see in the picture as well. It looks like the area I live in...so I've got my fingers crossed it's legit. I'll post the ad soon.

I'm mostly wondering if its general knowledge to avoid the 2007 Tundra or what. Especially at 252K miles....

    Cheers!

They are solid trucks if taken care of and maintained.
The 2UZ (4.7L) engine seem to last forever. They are a timing belt motor.
If it has that engine, might ask if/when it was last changed.
It doesn't have a lot of power, and MPG is not too good either.
The 3UR (5.7L) is a great engine as well. I has a lot more power and is more suited to be in a "full size work truck".
Nothing major to look out for, just a bit more expensive to work on....

The big thing to know is how it was maintained.
Open the oil cap and look down into the cover.
If it looks black or gold in color, that could mean the oil wasn't serviced as it should have been.
Same with the oil dipstick. If it's stained heavily it could be a warning sign.

Look for any leaks. Particularly around the valve covers and timing cover.
