I'm losing sleep over a dent in my car and it is making me sick

Damn, you have my sympathy for having that happen to you. One way or another you'll end up getting it fixed to your satisfaction.

I had a '94 4WD extended cab that got rear-ended two months after driving it off the dealer's lot. In my mind it was still brand spank'in new and my pride and joy toy. Many years later after having the fun of driving it/modding it, that dear old reliable friend of mine got stolen parked in front of my house. My bad because after more than ten years of use, the viper alarm I installed in it went bad and I procrastinated getting it fixed. I had just installed a new sound system too. Took awhile plus snagging a really good deal on a pristine tricked out zoom zoom Camaro to get over the loss.

edit - Just thought about it, did you try looking into those companies that do paintless dent removal work? Not sure if your damage is fixable that way, but it's an option you might want to look into.

I recieved a few complimentary door dings from some idiots in parking lots on my '17 Tacoma within a year of taking it off the showroom floor. I just ordered a good PDR kit off Amazon and pulled them myself. Not 100%, but if I didn't tell you they were there, you would never find them.

Being that the dent isn't creased on your fender, it will pull back out pretty easy with zero blemishes after a buff and wax. Just be sure to wash and clay bar that area really good before going at it so you don't add micro scuffs from any dirt/grit sittting on the paint.

OCD suck, as I have a bit of it running through my blood as well. I just pick my battles.

Yeah, that's why I showed the RA ones first. I have bought 2 LH and 1 RH of the certified from RA and each fit perfect.

Someone was complaining about the shipping from RA, so I just showed the alternative.

I’d bet the a good pdr guy could take care of that easy peasy. It would definitely bother me too.

I was pretty OCD about my truck until my wife backed out of the garage with the driver door opened, well the end result was not pretty. Replaced door and fender, gave it a rattle can paint job (Not bad actually) and called it good. Won't win any beauty contest but it can handle itself in the mountains like no ones business.

totally get it, but it’s a truck. A work vehicle. While I don’t go out of my way to beat it, I also understand how it’s supposed to be used. Don’t get me wrong. Fender bender...I’ll get it fixed. Hit and run? Yup, fixed. Someone puts a door ding in it in a parking lot? Nah. Daughter smacks her bike into and leaves a ding? Nope. Kiddo decides to run a metal object over my center console?? No. It’s meant to be used!! You will exhaust yourself fixing every little thing that happens to it. Trust me....been there. I’ve obsessed over a rock chip.

For the OP? Like I said, PDR, and put the fender back on. Call it a day. May not be perfect, but him, his dad, and God will be the only ones to notice it :)

Ha!! Same!! Mine is my daily!! Even have street tires on it. Just me, man. I’ve stressed over cars enough. Sooooo Much more fun when they aren’t that stress.

got a rock chip on my skewp a few months back from a bolt that fell out of the truck in front of me. End of the day, I’m short. Can’t really see it in the truck or out of it. Just left it. I have yet to have anyone notice.

my cobra years back had ford repaint the hood with the clear bra on. Left an 1/8 inch ledge of clear coat. Got it sanded down and buffed and there was a legit difference in color. I was the only one who ever noticed. Little things. End of the day, they just don’t matter.

focus on what matters. For us third genners, it’s the $4000 repair bill for our timing cover leak ;)

Haha!! Actually I did!! Sold it with 188k on the clock. Loved that truck. Wish I still had it. Thankfully I live in SoCal....rust isn’t really an issue here
