so I asked a shop for a quote on some Eagle Alloy 140's and some 265/75/16 Duratracs. Tire guy says Eagle Alloys wont fit a toyota tacoma due to some problem where the center cap wont fit the hub or some such. I know there are plenty of folks on here with Eagle alloys, but I havent seen anyone with 140's. Have any of you guys run across this??

I wish there were more options for a CLEAN looking black wheel with machined lip...

Plenty of people on here run eagles, like you said.

The only issue I could see is that some models of 16" rims won't clear the tacoma calipers.

Thanks - this helps. I know 17's will work. The tire price goes up 30 each going from 265/75/16 to 265/70-17 Damn... Your truck sparked my interest in the 140's.

Does anyone know if a 140 series 16" will fit properly?? I am waiting on a response from AE...which may or may not ever show up.

    what generation truck you running?

your info under your screen name doesn't say, and that is half the battle...

if your truck is a 2nd gen, and it came with 16s, then the 140s in 16x8 should fit as the backspace is .5" out from stock... the wheels are not hub centric so the center bore should fit...

a lot of times, when you run into shops who will tell you a certain size wheel will not clear a tacoma, they are basing their information on generic info they have heard elsewhere...

if for example, someone brought in a 2nd gen that has the bigger calipers, thus coming with 17s, that shop will blanket tell everyone with a tacoma that 16s wont work...

i have seen shops tell folks that 16s won't fit on a first gen tacoma... then when i show them my truck parked outside, they tell the customer that i probably have wheel spacers or custom calipers...

or that 15s won't clear a first gen...

all based on a certain tacoma that has come into the shop in the past...

that being said, you should not have any issues if your calipers can clear a 16" wheel...

if your truck is a second gen and came with factory 17s, then no way to guarantee fitment, in which case, your best bet is to try and test fit a 16" wheel on your truck...
