The very best example of what happens when social media gets involved in something that is meant to be "off grid" and based of self subtonablility.

This is some serious shit guys; it's from the Overland Journal website.
    Overlanding
describes self-reliant adventure travel to remote destinations where the journey is the primary goal. Typically, but not exclusively, accommodated by mechanized off-highway capable transport (from bicycles to trucks) where the principal form of lodging is camping; often lasting for extended lengths of time (months to years) and often spanning international boundaries. While expedition is defined as a journey with a purpose, overlanding sees the journey as the purpose

When I first started building my truck I wanted to follow the true definition of "overloading." Explorer new areas, be self-reliant for days with just a few people/vehicles, traveling with minimal pavement in between, and enjoying the experiences that were had. Now, I cringed when I hear the word and use quotations when I write it. It's become so mainstream of a word that it is now more cliché and a status symbol to increase "likes" on the gram than actually off-grid exploration where the limits of both the individuals involved and the vehicles they are using are pushed.

Edit: The can of worms you just opened up is unreal and I'm in this until the nuke...

Overlanding: While boating on one lake you see another lake that looks better, so you carry your boat from the lake you're in to the better looking lake.

"Welp buddy looks like we're going to have to go overlanding."
