I pass a T4R "feauverlander" on the way to work sometimes. Black, roof rack, steps up the back, winch, recovery hooks, some kind of rack on the rear with a spare and jerry cans on it. Everything on it perfectly spotless and clean. None of that shit has ever been used and you could lay a white bread sammich on the rear axle and not have a mark on it.

Dude drives about half as fast as your grandma in her 1985 Buick. I figure he's fantasizing about all the adventures he's on while driving to work. Cars are passing him all around as he's usually doing 30 in the 45 zone I see him in and takes about a half mile to creep up to that 30mph. It's the damnest thing I've seen in awhile.

1st world phenomenon. People take $40k+ vehicles with $30K worth of aftermarket mods to do what others have done in covered wagons and horses.

They usually don't die of dysentery though.

I'm only five year younger than you. The guy I ride with is 62. We rode 1200 miles of single Track trails on our bikes last year from March through October. Get off the couch man and live!

    Somewhere in the Mojave Desert...
    Vehicle:
    2017 Tacoma OR 4x4 (formerly 2002 OR 4x4, 1995 4x4 4Runner, 1985 4x4 Toy PU) ... and RIP’s (rust in pieces) to a Bronco II 4x4 & S10 Blazer 4x4
I believe a lot of covered wagons did things and went places no jeep or other 4x4 could have gone! They had better clearance than military hummers. Deep river crossing and floats (where snorkels would have drowned and wheels would have gotten stuck), roping down cliffs, etc. If you go to some of the old historic trail parks, you would be in awe at what the old timers did and accomplished.

See, you are on to something. Toyota should start making covered wagons, getting in on the ground floor of the next wave of overlanding...lol

A real "Back to the Future" edition..

You know what, maybe he will be the one that will end up laughing at all of us when the zombies start biting!!

Proper planning in overlanding prevents piss poor performance :mudding::ohsnap:

Slap some overlanding graphics on the side and throw in a free stove/yeti cooler, they'll fly off the lot for a mere $84,999.

    Flying covered wagons...now you're talking!

Hopefully they will have height adjustable seating....
