Cooper Discover STT tires 285/70/R17 (33s) Procomp 7032 matte black wheels 17x9 -6 offset. Front lift: Bilstein 5100 Adjustable Shocks set at 0. OME 885x coils. Rear lift: Bilstein 5100 shocks. 1.5 inch 3 leaf progressive. I still have stock UCAs but plan on getting aftermarket ones later. I ordered the shocks and coils from headstrong offroad and the 1.5 inch 3 leaf progressive from Wheelers Offroad. 50" Radius Light bar (From Sidetracked Offroad) Mounts from Relentless Fabrication.
This summer I plan on buying new wheels, tires, and a 3inch lift. I've been looking at the OME kit, but I've recently been looking at the 3 inch pro comp kit. I'm just gonna say what I've seen through the forums and then I wanna hear your opinions!

So I've seen that the OME Kit is what most people recommend because of the quality. It's also not a bad price ($750) for a lift kit "kinda in the middle". The ride is pretty smooth is what I'm seeing as well. Now I've seen a lot of people saying they don't get a full 3 inch out the lift. To accomplish that I would need to add a top plate spacer to get the guaranteed full 3 inch. The downside to that is I've seen quite of few people say they don't recommend getting the top plate spacer because it causes problems.

Now onto the Pro Comp kit! From what I've seen many people buy this kit because its very affordable ($450). A majority I've seen talk about this lift say they got the full 3 inches out of it. The biggest complaint though is that the ride can be very stiff. Some say though once it breaks in the ride isn't so bad anymore and pretty tolerable. Other than that I haven't seen any other negatives about the pro comp.

I just need help deciding between these two. I don't wanna spend $750 dollars if I don't have to if the only problem with the pro comp is stiffness. Like I said this is the only complaint I've seen about it. Now if theres anything else I don't know please share it with me! Its okay though if I have to spend more money on the OME though, but only if its going to benefit me more than the Pro Comp. One more thing I forgot to mention is I won't be doing any off-roading. So I don't know if that will help in deciding which kit to get!

Much help is greatly appreciated! :)

Regarding the OME, I've seen posts from guys getting close to 3" with the 887s.

I run OME with no regrets.

FWIW, a little more info about your truck might be useful to other people posting.

    ^^this.

The 887s and 885s have the same spring rate but the 887s are taller which make up for the need of the top plate spacer. I was in the same boat OP, started looking at the Pro Comp lift, looked at everything in between, and ended up with the OME. Just remember, like anything, you get what you pay for.

I put on an OME day before yesterday and find the ride stiff compared to original. Looks like I got right about 3" of lift

Is this a complete set? Wouldn't you also need UCAs with a 3" lift. I'm new to all of this, and I'm not asking to be a jerk...but because I want to know too.

    Later.

Procomp is an okay lift but OME has a better reputation.

Yes this is this complete set. I've read guys saying they didn't put new UCA's on with this lift, but its usually recommended from what I've read.

Probably a lot more people running the OME products. OP - you can always do an Add-a-Leaf in the back to save some money vs replacing the entire leaf packs.

Did you use any type of trim packer to level out the taco lean? I posted another question in the OME thread and separate suspension thread (that's not yeilding many results) regarding the rear lift options as well.

Yeah, I tow a camper every other weekend from spring-fall so was thinking I should get the Dakars as well. Just didn't know since I just had the newest tsb performed (new leaf packs, which don't show any sag with my weight distribution setup currently) if maybe the aal would suffice. Also didn't know if the rake would look stupid with the Dakars on without the top plate spacers on the front (to avoid having to get new UCAs).

I would go with Old Man Emu. In my eye's it's the best lift you can do on almost all Toyota 4wd models with out stepping into Coilovers.

I have a 2014 DCSB 4x4 running OME with the following set up.

    Front 866 Heavy
Rear Dakar Heavy (R & L leafs have a "+" sing on them, correct me if I'm wrong but I think that means they are heavy lift.)
Cambrug UCA (Using OE Ball Joints, So far no problems)
4 OME Nitro Charge Sport Shocks.

Ride is a bit stiff, but I also don't have the truck fully armored up. Here's a few pictures of mine.

Get lift spindles. Its the best way to go for those who have a 2wd truck. Alignmnet issues, no problem. Qaulity of ride, stock if you keep the stock coils so great. Height will be 3.5 - 4.0" which is perfect for 33" tires. Cost, not that expensive at all.

After you do the spindles up front all you have to worry about is the rear. Do a Multi AAL (3 leaf) and keep the overload in place and you have a great riding rear and the truck will sit pretty level.

Check out spindles man, worth looking into ;)

I sprayed mine with dry teflon spay last week and it shut them up real good. I just used the straw and tried to spray in the cracks. Totally a temp fix but I'm lazy too :D
