Wow! Good luck getting it dried out. I sunk my 95 chevy about that deep one time and had a fun time getting everything sorted out. Got water in the drive shaft, tranny and a little in the rear diff and flooded the drivers side carpet. My dad said that if a vehicle gets water above frame/inside then insurance will usually total the vehicle if you claim it.

I know I do after the incident I had. I always look first, then ease myself into it.

So you have no chance of dragging it into a warm garage or barn? If you suspect the stater, pull it out and run it to Autozone to check it out. While you're at it, I'd do the same to the alternator.

Don't understand why you would change fuses that aren't blown though . . .

IMO i would stop trying to start it and get it towed somewhere you can drain all the fluids and diagnos your problem better

Good luck with your truck bro, you really need to tow it somewhere though. Don't be like me and try to drive it after something like that. I learned the hard way after my truck spent a week in the shop and I was out some serious $$$$

This was on the first page but found it interesting. I asume you meant connecting rods instead of push rods. To my knowledge, someone correct me if I'm wrong, the only push rod motor Toyota makes is for nascar.

Sucks what happened dude. Just make sure to learn everytime you get stuck. I've gottonstuck 3 times in the last few weeks. Just not inthe water. Don't beat yourself up about it to much. Hope the trucks not messed up to bad.

Nice post Luni that should be a sticky in it's own thread. I nevver wouldve thought about draining the exhaust. I'd just cut mine after the headers and run them open after that.

Well, I guess you've received enough advice to know that you may have hydrolocked the engine. Do not try to start it until you are sure there is no water on top of the pistons (remove spark plug).

I sank a Dodge Dakota in a puddle that is usually rather shallow. Truck shut off in the water and it backflowed up the exhaust pipe. When we pulled out the truck, it was tilted forward as we went up the bank and the water ran down the pipe and into the exhaust port on the engine.

The genius I was with wanted to fire it up. He sprayed some starter fluid into my intake WHILE I cranked it over. I saw the explosion from behind the open hood and knew it was bad. No injuries but no facial or arm hair remained on him. With water in there, the piston had no where to go and destroyed the crankshaft/connecting rod. I have a bag full of pieces from it at home as a memory.

New engine and $12,000 later...I sold the truck!

    Good luck with your Tacoma!
