I'm stumped about the parking sensors on my 2016 Tacoma TRD Off-Road.

My son recently had a minor fender bender and so I needed to replace the passenger side bumper end cap and cover.

There are sensors in the bumper for the parking assist, and there is also the blind spot monitoring modules in each bumper end cap.

However, there is no center console button to turn the sensors on or off, and I don't believe I've ever heard them when reversing the truck.

Is it possible they came from the factory with the sensors but the truck was never configured for them to come on?

the big P is your parking sensor button. If it’s not lit then it’s off. That corresponds to the four circular sensors on the rear bumper.

As far as the blind spot units, that’s the button on the far left.

You’re saying the truck is missing them?

yeah my truck doesn’t have either button so I guess I don’t have that option it’s just weird to have all the sensors in the bumper

If you didn't buy the truck new then it probably had the bumper replaced with one from another truck. Some don't like the chrome bumper caps so they replace them with color matched painted ones or vice versa. Previous owner may have swapped the whole bumper instead of just the caps or the bumper got damaged and needed replaced. See if the harness to the sensors is actually plugged into the trucks harness or if it is tie wrapped up and hidden.

That’s weird. Did you check in the settings menu on the HUD?
    And it’s a 3rd gen right?

I think you may be correct. The vehicle was hit from behind and the bumper was replaced by the previous owner. Maybe they bought a bumper that had all of the sensors but like you said never plugged everything up because there was nothing to plug into. I'll crawl under the truck tomorrow and see if anything is plug into a harness on the underside of the truck. Thanks for the input.

    This and that
I think the bsm came in with the basic tech package, which is where the shitty ass qi charger comes into play.

oh nevermind. I just read the link you posted.
