    1997 Toyota Tacoma 2.4 alternator not charging, however the battery light isn’t on(and yes it works) also my check engine light has been on forever, but now isn’t on since the charging issue starte

    The alternator is maybe 2 years old, the real question is the check engine light quit working at the same time it quit charging and for some reason the battery warning light isn’t on but is on with just the key on, I’m sure this is connected somehow. Also I do have battery voltage at the stud on the alternator

    Almost sounds like you have some corroded wiring from the alt to the battery or multiple. This might explain why the truck isn't detecting weak battery.

    Have you checked your ALT-S fuse (7.5A) and GAUGE Fuse (10A)?

    I checked both the alternator fuses, not sure about the gauge fuse……..tomorrow is another day

    They both provide power to the alternator regulator so they are the first thing to check, Gauge Fuse is in the interior fuse box.

    If they are both good then you need to check for power on Pin 2 (Red) and Pin 3 (White) at the alternator connector with the key on.

    UPDATE!! After checking all fuses and connectors, it started working again!! I believe it was the connector on the back of the alternator ……thanx for all the help
