I've always been partial to JL myself. Had a JL 12" in my last car and have an 8" JL W3 in the Taco.

 

I have used JL before aswell and loved them.

But I have heard so much about ID kinda wand to try them but I guess I'll go with ID because I don't want to modify my seat!

 

I wouldnt waste my money on anything jl just like nike your just paying for the name

 

I agree that you're paying a premium for the name but a lot of the JL stuff is legitimately good gear. The W6's are fantastic sounding woofers. I'm partial to the JL HD900/5. It's a perfect amp for a lot of applications. That type of power density really is incredible. I didn't mind paying the premium for it a few years back because it was the best amp for the job.

 

Paying for the name? Maybe, but I've never had a complaint so I don't mind paying for something I've had very good results with. I've only ran an Alpine 300ish watt amp with the 12" i had in my last vehicle and the 8" I have now in the Taco and it's sounded very good. Then again I'm no audiophile and just want nice clean bass and don't care about people hearing my stereo from a block away lol.
