I live in Vegas and my truck does not overheat. I’m glad you know better than Toyota. FWIW I don’t think any truck has a mechanical fan anymore. My Ram Hemi didn’t, and guess what - it never overheated either.

Please reassure me they won't somehow.

When’s the last time you replaced an electric fan motor? There’s several in your house, computer, HVAC, etc.

You seem to make a lot of assumptions about things new to you being less reliable than what you’ve previously had, without providing any evidence to support those assumptions.

So I’m curious what actual reasons / evidence you have for suggesting things like horizontal oil filters and electric radiator fans are less reliable than the other sorts? Both were perfectly reliable for many tens of thousands of miles in prior vehicles I’ve owned, and have been around for at least a couple decades.

What problems have you personally experienced?

Rarely have I seen someone so upset at something they willingly spent money on.

some people just seem to love being mad at things, no matter what they are, I guess

jealous, man... Such a sick truck.

Do you worry about that section of exhaust pipe that's right under the front seats? Looks like a low spot that could get smashed.

Right on! That photo looks like Moab or something similar? You going for Rubicon this year?

I thought Toyota tucked the exhaust up a little higher on 4gen than the 2nd/3rd gens?

Nah not really. It’s getting some skids and other pieces of armor made by Bay Area Metal fab in the near future.

I had a 2024 Tacoma Limited as a loaner and enjoyed driving it for 100+ miles.

I'm not willing to invest is a new truck when I am happy with my current vehicle.

Are those guys still in business? Thought they closed up like Mobtown. BAMF doesn't have any 4G parts listed that I could see.

It seems like every day is Friday in this thread.
What will the actual Friday be like?

“Maybe it meant something. Maybe not, in the long run, but no explanation, no mix of words or music or memories can touch that sense of knowing that you were there and alive in that corner of time and the world. Whatever it meant.”
― Hunter S. Thompson, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas: A Savage Journey to the Heart of the American Dream
