I have noticed that more than just the op have complained about the speed of this truck. I have had my OR for three weeks and put just under 1000 miles on it. I am actually quite happy with the power the V6 gives me. It is enough to fight my way through traffic, but it's not sports car fast....but it is not a sports car, it is a truck. As far as storage goes, excluding a trunk, I think the cab has a great deal of storage space compared to my 2006 Corolla. Like others said...It's a truck for truck things. Mostly I am excited to not to have to do this anymore! Now I have a 5 foot bed for my 10 and a half foot kayak :(20171001_105921.jpg

A 17 year old Chevy is better than a new Tacoma on the road? Ok. Full sizes do ride nice for sure, but seriously lol.

I've wanted a 03-06 e55 amg for this same reason. And because it looks like something my grandpa would drive to the grocery store, yet does 0-60 in 4.1 seconds.

Yeah, that 6.2L exhaust. I could listen to it all day. Kind of makes me wonder why Mercedes bothered installing a stereo in the car.

Maybe its because I have a manual but I don't understand why people say this. I still own an Audi rs4 and traded a v8 version of the s4 for the taco... I really have no complaints about on road driving, speed or responsiveness. Its the most useful vehicle to have with a bed cover. Maybe you really don't like driving a truck. As you say its going to feel rugged but is not unrefined.

Is it an actual polestar or is a V60 with a polestar tune? And if it’s an actual polestar, is it black or rebel blue?

I didn't realize how fun my old Mazda 3 was to drive until I got my Tacoma. With that being said, I definitely don't dislike driving my Tacoma at all, even on road. In fact I love it. I feel much safer in it because of the size and height too. Yeah it's a little bouncy, but it doesn't make me frown.

Off road though? Wow. Holy smokes. So much fun. The slightly sluggish on-road ride is absolutely, 100% worth the trade off for having a good off-road system.

I really don't care about going fast though, and even though my Mazda was fun to drive, I rarely got to utilize it to its full potential. I can zip around town quickly, but it is dangerous and honestly not really my style. I am more of a relaxed, chill driver.

My folks live in an area that requires 4x4 to even get to during parts of the year, and we get a decent amount of snowfall. Just last week I got to drive around in 5 inches of fresh snow on top of a bunch of slippery slush from the week before, and it was a blast. Was I going fast? No not at all. In fact I was driving really slowly because the roads were really bad. But I needed to stay very focused and pay attention to everything that was going on. A lot of people were getting stuck and many of the intersections were gridlocked. I took back roads, mostly neighborhood and park roads on my way home and dodged all the traffic and had fun doing it. Those roads were not plowed yet so you basically needed a 4x4 to get through them. Absolutely couldn't have done that in my Mazda. That to me was more fun than most of my Mazda driving.

It's just different types of fun, and the Tacoma delivers where is it designed to. I sometimes miss the zippy nature of my Mazda, but not enough to have 2 vehicles or to think about trading my Tacoma for something else. I love off road way too much.

You got banned because you were annoying the fuck out of people. Look at your old profiles post history.. nothing but praise for OVtune, and then suddenly you bought a silverado and started shitting on not only the tacoma, but OVtune as well, and this on multiple threads.

Having an opinion is one thing, plenty of people around here don't like the truck but they dont get banned. Bothering people by continuing to post your opinion that has already been said a million times becomes redundant and annoying. Oh and hey, look, your back for more! Made a new username and started without delay bashing the tacoma. You didn't like it so you got rid of it, great, but don't keep bashing people who enjoy their vehicles. Go find something productive to do.

First of all it only has 4 gears so of course it shift less.
Second it has a lazy V8 so of course it feels like it has power everywhere. sounds like it too. Up to about 4k RPM anyways. The 3.6 from the mid size twins felt more powerful for the record, because it is more powerful.

I traded in a 1 ton 2008 chevy with the 6 liter so I know the truck well. A fullsize has a more planted feel due to it's mass, but that certainly doesn't mean it actually handles better.

Toyota makes 5 levels of tacomas, you bought an OR and complain about the floaty feel of it...lol. Maybe you should have bought a limited or sport, or SR, or SR5, or a Pro. I dunno, literally any other model you could have chosen would have suited your needs better.

Really what it is is you bought the wrong vehicle then blame the vehicle for not being what you wanted. You fucked up, that happens, but it's not Toyota's fault you are a dumb shopper and failed to do you homework.

When my taco is on its third transmission, or 4th fuel pump, or and endless number of front suspension parts, brake position sensors, 2 exhaust manifolds, 2 melted intakes, and 2 wheel speed sensors, then we will talk about how much better the GM is. All in 10 years and 175,000 miles.

As a contractor who uses his Tacoma for work that includes towing and hauling, as well for personal use, I do miss the low end power of the V8, but not the overall mass. Fortunately for me when I bought a small V6 I knew it wouldn't drive like a V8 and adjusted accordingly. It is not that hard to do.

The only thing it's missing that I wished it had is the active braking stuff (2018+). Mainly because I carry precious cargo (5 and 1.5 year old). But yeah, after seeing the 2020 (still looks great!), I'm still a fan of the projector light look as opposed to the narrow LED look.

You're trying to talk rationally with someone triggered by the Tacoma enough to stalk TW with multiple accounts and thinks clapped out Chevy suspension is great.

Congrats on the new rig op. I came from a DSG MK7 Golf R APR stage 2 (the dealership totaled it while performing warranty work). So I got into a 19 OR on 12/26/18. I know what you mean. It's the polar opposite of what I had too. Also my 1st truck and after driving it for a while, it has definitely grown on me. Got about 2500 miles on the clock. I've been putting 91 oct in it since gas prices are low now and Costco only has 86/91 where I live. The higher octane helps give it more pep and slightly better mpg's. The auto trans doesn't really bother me. It seems to be getting better the more I drive it as far as behavior. I expect it to be far more reliable than Vdubs.

I came from a tuned 18 golf R . If I had to do it all over again I wouldn’t have got this truck it’s fun and all but my R was 100x more enjoyable . However I also love the truck and have 5,000 miles in 3 months of ownership bought it brand new .
