impulse red or barcelona red

Beautiful Barcelona Red

 

Barcelona is a great color but wasn't available when I bought my Impulse Red in 2007. If I was buying today it would be Barcelona

nope...Impulse is a darker red...and it never gets any love.

 

Why cannot Toyota use a red more like this?

 

Impulse Red Pearl for my Tacoma, Barcelona Red for my wife's Scion XD.

 

If Barcelona was offered back in 06, I would be driving one. I own an Impulse Red. The thing that ticks me off about IR is that Toyota doesn't offer it in the Sport model. They do offer it for Barcelona Red. Frustrating....

Oh, both are great colors so you can't go wrong with either one.

i still think you guys have it backwards...my window sticker says barcelona red. and its looks like what you guys are calling impulse..maybe its just the colors look differend in the pictures

 

Barcelona was our second favorite color. Not real flashy, just looks very good.

 

They have it right, look at the bottom sport tacoma, the graphite grill was introduced in 2009 along with the barcelona red. You can't have an impulse red with a graphite grill.

Oh and Barcelona Red FTW.

The impulse red looks faded. the barcelona is a deeper red and looks awesome in sunlight or shade - and it looks different in both.

When I bought my truck April 5th 2005 believe it or not the Toyota dealership only had 2 Tacoma's on the lot. a manual RC and a auto RC. I chose manual because it was $1000 less and I have always had a manual tranny. SO i drove away in a Impulse red Tacoma RC. STARTED to get a Tundra but.....liked the Tacoma just a little better.

 

I have Barcellona Red, so that should tell you my preference. Be aware though that Barcellona Red is a tri-color. This means that it has 2 color coats and a clear coat. If you take it in to get something color-matched, it will cost more due to the extra coat of paint required.

Note that there is some BR color matched rattle cans that can be found, but over time, the two may not age the same.

 

Impulse Red has too much of a maroon-ish tint to it, for me. The Barcelona Red has more orange in it, and it just makes it 'pop'. (sorry. been watching too much HGTV with the wife.)

None of the photos can show how awesome the BRM looks in direct sunlight. The metallic is amazing. Magnetic Gray Metallic is the same way. It looks ok in photos, but when you walk up to one and look at it in the sunlight, it just looks incredible. My dealer was already pulling my BRM from another dealer when I saw a MGM Taco on the lot and I almost told them to cancel the BRM one.

 

Not a fan of red trucks at all, but I would go with Impulse. The Barcelona looks like it's trying to be a sports car, where the Impulse looks like a true manly truck color, especially with the black fender models.

Of course, if Sporty is what you are shooting for, then Barcelona is the clear choice.
