In 4LO, turn off truck, restart and it beeps at me

This has happened twice now. I'll be in 4LO, park the truck for a bit like to eat lunch, then when I restart it the 4LO light is flashing and the truck is beeping at me. I have to go back to 4HI to make it shut up, then go back into 4LO. It's like the truck put itself in 4HI while it was off. I didn't try driving with it beeping to see what gear it was *actually* in. Anybody had this happen before?

 

Its happened to me once or twice as well. Its still in 4lo for sure when driving but yeah stop and cycle back to 4hi then to 4lo again to make everything happy and all is good. I just considered it a quirk.

 

It's never happened to me and I have a 4 cylinder, I stay in 4 low.

shut off......restart.........solid light means 'locked in'

 

I dunno if yall are aware, but there are two different sensors on the clutch pedal. One for starting and shutting off cruise, and the other sensor to tell the 4wd computer that the clutch is in fact bottomed out and it is safe to go into 4 low. If there is even a floor mat under the clutch pedal it will just beep at you......
