In-bed spare tire rack? Custom or production?

Anybody makes an in-bed rack to mount the spare tire?

I am debating if I should mount the spare under the truck or in-bed.
In order to have "functional" spare with the same height, width, off-set as the 4 ones, I had to get a 5th wheel/tire combo as the 4 driving ones. Was lucky to find "the last and ONLY wheel" available since they were discontinued 2 years ago. I have no problem mounting the spare under the truck as OEM but I don't want to have it damaged by the road debris or scratch by the hoist locking thing that goes through the wheel.
Any ideas? Also I would like to have a spacer between the wheel and the hoist support to keep the tire off the guiding ears.

 

Do you wheel your truck? If so, you do not want the spare under the bed in the OEM location.

Warrior products makes a low profile bed rack with tire attachment hardware sold separately:

 

The easiest and cheapest is put d rings in the bed bolts and secure it down with ratchet straps. Or try using the existing tie down points

OEM location is fine then.

 

OEM location will do just fine, if your concerned put the hoist in the wheel then a cover over the wheel and hoist it until tight

OP, for street only use the OEM location.
If you're worried about scratching just flip the wheel so the hoist grabs the surface that would meet the hub

 

Probably a split ratchet strap

 

I like that because it can quickly and easily be removed if you need to use the bed for larger items.
