Seeing if I can find some help. Right now I have a UWS tool box in my regular cab and it comes in handy for carrying all of my items but when I need to use the bed it is just too big. I'm leaning more towards a sit in side the bed tool box but most of them are still 20 or 21 inches. The kobalt slim I think is only 12 which is about the size I want but I would like a sit in the bed one so I can slide things on top of it. Closest what I've found to a very slim tool box like this would be a UWS atv tool box I found on Amazon. But they are not very long. Would like one to fill the bed space from left to right since there will be a box there already. Looking for something like this.

I had a UWS bedside box that mounted behind the wheel hump. I had to drop the tailgate to open the toolbox door. There were 5 sliding drawers inside that came out. It was perfect for tools on the go, and I didn't have to climb into my bed to get to them. This was in an F150. Perhaps they make a Taco-size version. Check Agri-supply. That's where I got mine.

I thought about using a bedside box off of craigslist but they are usually not very deep. I don't need any drawers or anything just a space to keep stuff that will stay dry and not clutter up my cab. The regular cab fills up fast.

Decided to go with a lund 48 inch tool box. Should fit nice and snug and pretty low. Save me a lot of space and give me just enough storage for what I need.

For the toolbox I currently have? It's the UWS 20 or 21 inch box that a lot of people have for their tacomas. The one that I am going to order is Lund 74448FM.

I've read multiple descriptions on various sites and some have pictures of the box with two handles, which is what I want. That center handle might be a stretch and become annoying. Each descriptions says the world handles, as in two. I've asked a couple websites to try and clear this up but no response yet. Probably have to contact Lund directly and find out if they make two models or if they all have two handles. I also need to measure how far apart th bolts are in the front of my bed where you can add more tie downs, that's where I will be anchoring it down to.

Yeah that looks pretty good man. I have yet to order that box. Trying to weigh out my options. I like my tool box I have now, got it cheap and does the job. But i do use my bed a lot and that tool box is a pain in the ass. I had 6 sheets of 4x8 plywood flapping in the wind. I already have my bike mounts bolted to it and I wanted to add a ski/snowboard rack on top of it for the snowboards.
