While looking around at everyones system i've been trying to decide which in dash unit to buy and rather or not to put my flip up DVD/CD player in. On *********.com i see a lot of people went with the smooth dash kit instead of the rough bump look. I like the bump look but does it look the same that is in it from factory and whats next to the gear shift? Also i've noticed the single din kit makes the pop up dvd/cd players really high on the dash board when it folds out. Anyone agree or is it not as bad when you are using it? I have thought about buying the double din one and buying a new dvd player. What are your thoughts?

I started off with a single din unit and it drove me nuts because the screen kept shaking a lot, especially after I installed the lift kit. So I went to the double din unit and I was very happy with the way it looked rather than the single unit.

But now that my double din is acting up on me (Jensen unit, not very good) I've decided to get another double din, and this one from pictures I've seen with other toyota tacomas with it installed, it looks very clean! Here's a link to the one I bought, it's over $100 off. Just go and compare their prices with best buy and you'll see the difference.

I sold my pop-up and bought the DD when I got the 2nd gen Tacoma for the very reasons you are concerned about. I am not dissatisfied with my decision.
