In Need of ECGS Tools

Hey all, planning on putting some OME coils on my OME Struts to get a couple inches of lift. I’m planning on doing the ECGS bushing on the drivers side, after hearing that a lot of people have had the needle bearing grenading itself a certain amount of time after lifting.

Wanted to know if anyone here is cool enough to ship me their bushing remover, plus bushing and seal installer… I would pay shipping and return shipping to get it back to you. It’s just hard to justify spending close to 200 bucks on the bushing itself, a new axle seal, and the tools needed for removal and install, just to replace something that has a chance of failing, but might not fail.

I like doing preventative work if it makes sense, but at this point part of me wants to chance it, or part of me would give in and buy $90 in speciality tools that I’ll never use again after this…

Also wanted to ask, how many of you replaced your axle seals with new ones, and how many of you just threw the old one back in?

Looks like I may just be able to use a socket for bushing install?

 

I just finished up with a set that was sent to me, I have someone lined up to ship them to next. Let me check with him and see if I can send them to you and then you to him when your done. Not promising anything but I’ll see if he is ready for them.

That’s awesome, thanks for offering. It may be a week or two before I get to it, still need to order the bushing, and maybe an axle seal… did you do your axle seal?

If he’s ready for it, then by all means let him get it before I do

I have a set that I'm looking to sell. Bushing install and removal tools, plus the seal installation tool

 

I have one you can have. I don’t have the seal tool though and used my own set. I’ll actually be in DC tomorrow for a meeting and can bring it if you want to come and get it. Or I’ll ship it up to you for whatever fedex charges. PM and we will figure it out.

 

Do you have one of the newer removal tool that didn't need modifications?

 

I just made one out of some all thread and nuts and 1/4" steel plate. I have all the dimensions saved. Only took a few minutes. Really need a welder though to tack the nut to the puller piece.
