The Taco aftermarket support is nuts. Absolutely nuts.

As was noted above, this motor won't do anything with a CAI or cat back. In fact, you already have a CAI that uses the Tundra airbox. You can get rid of the dingus for less than half the cost of a CAI:

If you are going to wheel it, a lot of folks like an axle dump. That gave me some extra clearence and some free sound:

Chopping the tail pipe either before or after the axle. The after axle is free and easy. :sawzall: :sawzall: :sawzall: No more tip polishing.

The pre-axle dump, like my pic, needs a short, down-turn tip. :welder: :welder: :welder: You can use one of the bends from the cut section and just get it expanded. I failed there, as did the Harbor Freight expander. The OE pipe wall was too thick for it.

I like the pre-axle for removing some weight and ease down the road if I mess with the muffler.

    You're welcome! :bananadead:

    Thanks for the tips!

So from your picture, I assuming you just run a larger intake pipe from the air box to the throttle body? If so, did you buy yours or make it yourself?

    You're welcome.

Yes. It gets rid of that big resonator.

    Mine is from HPS:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078H65713/

Some folks have made one with the appropriate silicone elbows, a straight tube, and a connector for the vent hose.

    That was my thing also!

There is now a nice growl above 3,500rpm.

I threw my oem tip back on after I did my axle dump. Gave it a little extra pizazz.

Did doing the axle dump make your exhaust any louder?

Didn't really pay attention to the sound, sorry. I'd imagine it wouldn't be much different than the side exit with tip.

    Haha! Get on it!

Gotta look under the tail to check it out. :D

Mine changed enough that it took any desire to mess with other exhaust mods. Just a good hint of sound.

Depends? What are your needs? What kind of build are you looking forward to? Then we can begin the mods imo
