I haven't received final word from the insurance company, but my '07 is probably totalled, having sustained damage to the entire passenger side and the front hood. Will provide pics soon for those interested, but I'm putting out feelers for anybody that may be looking for parts or an entire parts truck. All damage is cosmetic (waiting for adjuster to confirm) save a damaged upper cab pillar which is the probable cause for a total loss. The truck will be towed to Caldwell, ID near Boise. Also open to suggestions on replacement Taco.

    Oh, here we are:

It's always a long story, right? Here's a shorter version. Decided to go wheeling up to an alpine lake I've been wanting to see. Road narrows and snowmobile tracks begin where truck tracks end. No room to turn around so i back down ~150-200 yards. At narrowest part of road, I slow to a crawl. With highwall to my driver side and creek bed to my passenger side, I continue backing. Rear passenger tire finds the lip of a 70 degree embankment and decides to invite all 3 of his friends for the ride down. All 4s slide down about 8 ft. and I came to rest as you see in the photo. I won't go into the ~3.5 mile walk down the mountain and the wolf that was stalking us (me and my fiance). Sounds too dramatic, I know

We're both alright, and thanks. Will provide more info for anyone interested in purchasing the salvaged truck. Deciding if I should let it go to salvage yard or pay the salvage value (depending on $) and parting it out and deal with additional tow. Maybe someone would like to pay the salvage price outright as it will otherwise be auctioned off at a higher price, I presume. Anybody got any experience with this?

Dude, I could just imagine the fear of knowing that one tire could convince the other 3 to abandon ship. Im sure you two were holding onto the shit bar. Im happy to hear you two are ok. At least you two (hopefully) didn't break skin and starting bleeding only to draw the animals that can smell that! Get some rest and let the insurance co do their thing. If I were you, start looking at an 09. :D Side Curtain Airbags here we come.

Wow, bumped to page 4 in less than 24 hours. Glad to see the forum is so robust. Well, seems there's little interest is parts for 2nd gens (why I'm looking to get another one very soon; I've seen some with nearly 100K and still no need!) so thanks to all well-wishers and to surfsupl: that's the one thing (rims + tires) I would've been interested in reserving for myself. Guess I will surrender title to salvage yard. One last thing: anybody in Idaho Falls, ID area or Sioux Falls, SD area? Will be strolling through dealerships and looking for info/beer buddy/wheeling buddy if you're not turned off by pics!
