Incessant window seal rattle, even when windows fully lowered..is the only fix paying for new seals?

This drives me nuts.. it happens equally as bad on both brand new blacktop and rough gravel roads..

It's more than just a rattle, it's like a cracking sound that just happens to be located right at mine and the passenger's ear levels. The dealership said I can pay $200 per side to get new seals. I've tried silicone sprays, lithium spray, and the dealer sprayed.. nothing made a difference. The only information I can find in other threads is to try these sprays. Any last thoughts before I dish out $400 for something so trivial on a 4 year old truck?

Damn dude, that's pretty intense. I had some noise like that, but not as prolonged or constant. Silicone spray fixed mine mostly.

Only 4 years old, no more warranty on it? I'd maybe in contact with Toyota Corporate, as a last shot anyway.

That would drive me crazy. I know you drive a lot to different photo spots, I am sure it's driving you up the wall.

    Good luck!

Hey I had a similar problem on mine and it turned out to be the door seals, not the window seals. Maybe try lubing those and see what happens?

Could be worth a try! I'll see where I can get..

Haha thanks! Yeah, between this and the kazoo sound at highway speeds my truck is really vocal, lol. Can't help but wonder if this factored into the previous owners selling it..

    I'll try that too!

Yep it's definitely the door seals, or the harder plastic seal beneath the strip that has the small holes (if that make sense without a photo). WD40 brand lithium grease completely solves the issue.. for about 4 days then it's back. I'm hoping after enough applications maybe there'll be so much gunk there it'll be permanent?

I used to use this AC Delco stuff on the door seals of a few vehicles and it seemed to work really well (and last a while). It might work on your Taco?
