I'm just wondering why my Scangauge is saying that my incoming air temp is 118 when I know it's only around 80 degrees. My 2004 2.7 "seems" to be a little lower on power as well. While 2.7's are low on power to begin with I have noticed a decrease. Just installed a new fuel filter.

Could it be the MAF sensor or is there another sensor in the intake system that senses the temperature of the air? There are no codes.

My intake air is usually 10 + degrees higher than ambient (ultra gauge)

Heat soak. If you're just sitting there in idle traffic, the engine bay gets quite hot without airflow and that heat is absorbed by anything like plastic, metal, pretty much everything under the hood and changes the IAT more than you would think. Over 30° difference in your case.

That's what I was thinking it just seems the temp difference has been higher than a year ago. I guess it's probably nothing. Thanks for the info.

Just noticed op that yours is a 4 cyl. Traded trucks a week ago and now I'm driving a 4 cyl. So far the temperatures are closer, even as little as 1 degree. Must be due to having more room under the hood. Up front theres enough room for a door gunner or a dog box, etc.

    Where is the IAT sensor?
