Incoming text messages driving me nuts

Does anyone have any idea why the truck reads some texts to me twice and others only once?

I'd really prefer to hear all of them only once. Couldn't locate any setting(s) I could change for this. Thanks in advance.

 

My truck use to read incoming texts out loud, not anymore. Not sure what happened. Never read into it in the manual.

 

Could be the phone as well. I have an iphone and the system stopped reading texts after the phone updated. Had to go into phone settings and turn the feature back on. Also my phone is set to notify twice for texts so I think they do the same on entune. There was a discussion a while back on the site about this, not sure of the link though.

 

I would ch check the settings on your phone. My bet is that you have it set to notify you of incoming texts more than once. I had the same issue a while back and had to reset it again to only notify me once.

 

With tech-stream your Toyota dealer can enable a “screw off, I’m driving” automated response to all texts. The incoming texts dry up pretty quick.

 

You can do the same yourslf on your phone.

A lot of the txt messages I get have dirty pictures with them. Why don't those show up on the entune screen?

Me as well now it just pops up saying I got a message but won’t read it anymore.

 

I would tend to believe it was phone settings at fault, if ALL messages were being read twice ..... but they are not.
