Curious if anyone has increased the wattage of their JBL system... I love the sound of the JBL, it has nice bass and great mids .. But honestly, it just doesn't go loud enough. Sure I'm causing damage to my ear drums, but in the summer time windows down, and a great song comes on, I want to turn it up so loud that it becomes painful...

Rip it out and replace it all, is pretty much your only option.
More power will blow the factory speakers (they blow easy enough with the amount of power they currently get)

You could try replacing the speakers with higher sensitivity 2ohm speakers, but you’ll end up spending a decent chunk of change

LED interior lights. Steering wheel mod. New radio. Amp, speakers and sub woofer.
You need to keep the jbl amp but you can send the signal to another amp and then back into the factory harness. There's a company that makes the harness you need to do this. If interested, I'll post the link. Take note that you will also need to upgrade the speakers to match the watts of the new amp or risk blowing the factory speakers.

I definately feel Toyota muted the JBL system a bit from 17 to 18/19. I had it in my 17 and it was alot louder / clearer than my two 19's have been, maybe its just me.
