    17’ Tacoma Sport came with:
P265/65R17 with 29psi recommended pressure front and rear

Tire shop recommended going up a size so I now have P265/70R17.

Do I stay at the recommended pressure for the truck at 29psi?

Should be fine. Chalk test is an easy check for any tire size to check pressure.

I found 34 psi cold is best with that tire size. But everyone is different

Are you 100% on them being P-metric? They do in fact have a P-prefix printed on the tire?

Tire pressure is a personal opinion and safety and fuel efficiency calculation.

Bigger tires may run better at the tire manufacturer pressure from a safety perspective, may run better gas mileage with the oft mentioned chalk test and may run at your driving style preferences at a different pressure.

I’d suggest running them at similar pressures all around and various pressures for your common driving. Don’t be afraid to try higher or lower than “spec”. I run bigger tires at higher than stock because I like the way it grips in the corners for me.

Experiment. Ignore us all, especially those who like me responded.

    Okay...
    OEM was a P265/65/17/110
    NEW should be a P265/70/17/113

You can inflate to 26 psi.
Load capacity ceases to increase at 35 psi.
Anything over 35 psi is to maintain speed rating.

Well dang I’m at 35 psi all around. That’s what the installers left them at.

    26psi seems LOW

    Why do you think that?

You inferred you knew tire size might influence psi by asking the question.

Doesn't it stand to reason a tire with increased volume and higher load rating would require less psi? Posted a chart and everything...

Ultimately, do what you want. At least you'll be in no danger of under-inflation.

Do you have the source for the chart so that I can review it for 16" diameter wheels?

Google the term 'chalk test' that @gotoman1969 references.

Set your tires at 29 and work your pressures 1lb at a time (either up or down as required) according to the test results, till you get it just right.

So you'd rather guess than follow a long proven process.

    Got it.

    Hope you guess right..........

Guess? The place that put the tires on left them at 35. I’ll make sure they’re at 26 Karen

FWIW, every time I go down the rabbit hole of PSI, and chalk tests... I end up within a lb or two of that's on the door sticker.

So now, during winter may run a little below the sticker. During the heat of summer I may run a little over the sticker.

I think the fact that were even paying attention to PSI puts us in the top 1% of american drivers.

Good lord, I need to run my ST Maxx's at 45 PSI to match my stock Goodyears... My back is crying. I think I'm at 32 cold and 38 warm right now, looks like I'm down about 200# capacity or so.

I’ve never run a set of tires at 26 psi on the road on my life, way to low to me. For stock OE tires I run the door label or a little higher. Chalk test sounds good but I’ve never felt the need to do it.

Maybe not; I suspect you missed a step.
    What size is your tire?
