Are there any pluses and minuses for increasing the front coilover preload versus adding a spacer for a front lift on a Tacoma?

My front is about 1.5 inches, but I'd like to increase it to about 2 inches to decrease the rake (booty is currently high). My front shocks are Fox 2.5 0-2" lift range. I'm considering a spacer on the top hat to avoid increasing the preload too high, but I don't know if that is a bad idea and if it's better to increase the preload.

Thank you. Would you reccomend reposting?

Accutune had a clear answer (https://accutuneoffroad.com/articles/spacer-lift-vs-preload-spacer-vs-coilover-preload/): do not put a spacer lift.

For a Tacoma, where do you measure the total shock length? The top hat is set up differently than in Accutune's drawing, still measure to the mountint surface of the top hot? Accutane recommends up to 20.5" for my shocks (https://accutuneoffroad.com/articles/preload-adjustments-on-oem-fit-coilovers/, FOX-880-02-361)

New question, what preload settings do people run on the Fox 2.5 0-2" lift shocks?

Awesome! Thank you. I'll have to check out my shocks to see if a spacer is a good idea.

Tinkerer's second video explains how top-out spacers can work well. It just depends on where the shock's internal bottom out is versus the bump stop and the shock length versus binding for the suspension itself on the droop side—lots to think about.

My shocks have 4.61" of travel.
