Any info on this mounting bracket? I guess I'm missing it on their website or something. I'm buying a slide for the back of my Runber but I'm planning on using this mostly in my camper. Trying to decide if I need the mounting bracket or not.

 

I'm gonna go ahead and get the bracket just in case.

@.45 JHP do we have to get you to add the mounting bracket to our name on the list or do we just add that to when we order ourselves?

 

Can't decide whether to build my own slide or buy the Indel slide...

 

I'll build my own eventually. So I'm going to go ahead and get the fridge mounts for when the time comes.

I added up the total for most parts I would have to purchase to make my own. I'm at about $140-160 before all the cutting, grinding and labor time of my own. F it. I'm getting the pre made one

 

The mount plate isn't required with the fridge slide. The fridge sits on it and gets strapped down

 

That's how I plan to do it, but like Tretiak30 said, most fridge slides just use straps.

I know this. I'm not buying a slide, I'm building a type of fridge slide.

 

4 piece angle iron, plywood for base, 2 slide, 4 tie-hold down, 4 anchor seem like all the parts needed.

 

A HD slide strong enough to hold the weight of the fridge plus what you out in it goes for about $110 for a 24" slide pair since that's about how long you'd need it to slide and still be the length of the fridge

Depends on how much beer you bring at once!

You'll also want a slide that locks. The one I looked at are lock in/ lock out slides.

I'll eventually get one of these when I finally put a drawer system in the back of the 4Runner. But now is not the time to drop a grand on a fridge slide.

Yup! But they were the only ones I found that lock, and are just the perfect length

 

The 50qt fridge weighs 40lbs according to what I can find. If you only have drinks in it, it can hold about (72) 12oz cans which is about another 63 pounds. The Indel slide can support up to 220lbs.

 

But by the time you buy two of them you're already spending more than just buying the slide from Indel. Am I missing something here?
