What's the noise volume of these like when they are running?

Very quiet. You can barely hear them if everything is off, I'm a light sleeper and it wouldn't wake me up. But if you're driving or have the music on at all, you will likely not hear it.

I've seen these fridges before. Where are you putting them? Inside the cab or in the bed?

They aren't able to get the $35 dollar mounting plate anymore. Or at least for a while. They have to find a new manufacturer.

I bought the TB41 last year when they offered this deal. The fridge has been amazing and holds everything I need on a trip. I've used it on camping trips, a full Baja run, and a fly fishing trip through Yellowstone. I built a platform with the Truck Fridge slide, ran 10ga dedicated power for the fridge, and removed the rear passenger seat. I use the Renogy 100w solar suitcase mounted to my Prinsu rack and it can run indefinitely without any problems, even in +100 degree heat. I haven't made the jump to a dual battery system yet, because the fridge is so efficient! Very happy customer.

I am teetering on the fence about getting one of these for camping. I had a 12v cool for a lunch box when I was driving trucks about like the TB15. It worked ok, though it wasn't exactly quiet or super efficient on the hotter summer days. I currently use a 52qt Coleman Extreme 5 for camping. It's usually overkill, just for me, and plenty adequate for a group of 3-4. Given I wouldn't need all the space for ice, I don't think I'd need as big of a cooler. How much of a difference in interior space is there between the TB41 and TB51, as much as 20lbs of ice? I think the TB51 is about the same width and height, but about 4" shorter than my Coleman 52qt. Biggest obstacle is deciding which one to go with...

RE: " How much of a difference in interior space is there between the TB41 and TB51, as much as 20lbs of ice?"

I have agonized a little over this purchase and have looked at them all. Whynter, ARB, Engel, etc. The truckfridge looks to be the best bang for the buck on the market and at this group buy discount it was a no brainer for me.

My rough calculations are the TB41 is 1.5 cu. ft and the TB51 is 2.0 cu. ft. So, 25% more space for "not" much more and they have the same foot print, with the TB51 being about 3.5 inches taller. The height might be a factor if you have a low ceiling. I don't know for sure, and am just guessing, but the TB51 looks like it would need about 2 feet of overhead clearance to get the basket out of it.

I have been using a Coleman thermoelectric for years. It is not really a comparison, the truckfridge will MAKE ice if you want. It will freeze fresh fish.

I have the tb41. Its great, but found it a bit small for longer trips. So i just bought a tb51 to help with the longer trips

Would you say the tb41 would be a good size for just one person? I don't usually bring a whole lot of food on weekend trips.

Definitely. Weekends were no problem. 5 days is where i started having issues fitting everything i wanted. Between booze and beer, there wasn't a lot of room left for food :p
But was definitely good for solo weekend trips
