You're not wrong about that. What does come up goes quick, too. Seems like the best ones are just a little farther than I can realistically travel right now.

Yeah one of my coworkers has been looking for a 2nd/3rd gen double cab or a 5thgen 4runner and is now considering leaving the state to the surrounding states to look at some still up for sale.

Thanks. Happy to be in touch with some knowledgeable folks here and hopefully once I have a rig I can meet up with a few Hoosier Tacoma drivers. Going to look at another truck today, so we'll see what happens.

I have a decent line on some trucks, but I'm about smack dab inbetween Indy and Cincy.

What are you looking for in a Tacoma? What are you looking to do?

    Is this a DD?
    Planning to mod?
Need 4 door or would reg or extended cab work?
4x4? (I'm assuming yes, with the location....)

Hey man. Thanks for the offer. I ended up finding a truck a couple weeks ago and I'm really happy with it so far.

Thanks, everyone. I'm really enjoying driving it so far. Need to familiarize myself more with how to use the 4wd, honestly. Never done any kind of off roading and wife's old Jeep was full time AWD, so never really thought about it. Obviously lots of capability that I know nothing about in this truck.

You can switch into 4wd under 62mph. You just turn the switch to 4HI. I personally do not do it unless I am going less than 40mph. My theory is that if the roads are bad enough for 4wd, I do not need to be going much faster than 40 mph anyway. Don't let anyone tell you not to use it on snow/ice covered pavement. If it snows, I drive all the way to work and all the way home in 4HI. That's why I bought a Taco!

It is best not to use it on DRY pavement or dry concrete though. It causes it to bind up a little, especially when turning. Its not like its going to just break, it will just wear components faster.

Thanks for the advice! Maybe someday I'll get into some scenario where I need to learn to use the locking diff and all the other capabilities...

Find an empty parking lot. Work it slowly through 2wh to 4wh to 4wl. If you have a rear locker, engage it. Then undo everything back to 2wh. Do this every now and then to keep actuators from seizing. Don't wait until you're 5 miles into a trail

As was mentioned, no long distance or high speeds on DRY pavement.

Just make sure it works when you need it.

I washed Betty for the first time since moving. I set up the spigot so I could get cold hard, cold soft and hot soft water from the basement. It was great not having to worry as much about hard water spots!

Unfortunately nothing too exciting here. My only mods for the summer have been Diode Dynamic SS3 Pro Fogs and finally got around to installing my TRD Pro skid that I bought back on a Black Friday Sale. One of these days I will get around to ordering my Bilstein 6112/5160s.
