Yes, I mean that ring. It’s not glued on the 4600 Bilsteins but I believe it is on stock Bilsteins…but I haven’t been in there before. Going off of something someone else told me. I do know for sure the bolts did absolutely nothing. I have gotten to where I don’t care about the noise anyways.

As for the 4600s, if they continue to not have noise, my best guess would be the ring is a tighter fit to the 4600 body or something.

thats what i believe aswell. even with the bolt loose there is constant force downward during normal driving so there still shouldn't be any noise. only when tire is unloaded from a super deep pothole or straight up jumping it theres never any force pulling up on that bolt to release the slack.

For what it's worth, when I took the bolts out of the strut mount, the bolts were pretty chewed up. You could definitely tell there's some friction going on there. I also had a little bit of wear on the top of the strut - the bolt that slips through the tophat that you compress the bushing to. At a minimum, this confirms for me that the sound was strut-related.

This was on a stock SR5 V6. My neighbor has a TRD Sport with the yellow and blue Bilstein's and he has the same click. Because him and I have different struts but the same exact click sound when we go over the speed bump in front of our place, I think it's the bolt. Hard for me to believe that the coil spring mount on both the Hitachi SR5 shocks and the Bilstein TRD shocks BOTH have some problem with glue on the coil spring mount like the other guy said.

Either way, I'm glad it's gone. So annoying.
