There are 6 of them on the lot. A couple of them are $11,000 off.

    @redbull9944

That has literally nothing to say about a Tacoma.

I'm sure a yellow Porsche GT-3 is more of a fun car to own than a white GT-3.

A Honda Civic probably has a different story to tell, though.

Inferno has been out what, 2 years? 3 years? It's value is higher because the initial price was higher as it debuted on the TRD PRO models. They also came in white, and black.

Can you show me a TRD PRO Inferno that's worth more than a TRD PRO Super White? The only appeal to Inferno is if someone likes it. Some guy might pay $2k over asking price to get his hands on an Inferno truck, while another might say "it's going to cost me $5k to get it repainted, so there's no way I can pay your asking price."

Not everyone wants those colors, so those that do may pay more for it, or maybe they won't. It doesn't appeal to the masses, so you cut your prospective buyers down to a significantly smaller group.

I don't even know how we got here, but you either like Inferno and Quicksand or you don't, and I would be willing to bet if you stand on a lot all day long and try and sell ONLY Inferno and Quicksand colored trucks you'd be a pretty bored salesman.

I have owned: Black, Silver, White....all too boring in my view.

Decided on Quicksand after seeing in person (neigbors 2016 4Runner TRD PRO).

The value lies in how many are produced. Toyota is going to make way more black, silver, and white trucks than Inferno. I have the sheet that says so. Since it's a more "limited" color it should be worth more in a few years. People will be able to cross-shop dealers for white, silver, and black Tacomas because they are popular colors. No so with the rarer colors like Quicksand and Inferno

I figured this thread might turn into a bit of poo flinging. Each to their own at the end of the day. You're the one buying the 40K truck and most likely going to be living with it for awhile. Get what appeals to you! :stirthepot: but just don't get Inferno or Quicksand

So someone who wants those will pay more for it?

Sounds familiar. I'm glad we agree..

Judging from things I've seen in Montana...MGM is the gold standard for Tacomas. There are at least 3 of those Gen 2 in my building. As for Gen 3 what I see coming to the dealers is BBP and Inferno with MGM & Quicksand on their heels. White and Red are pretty rare and black mostly nonexistent. To date I've only seen, in person, MGM and Inferno. I really like the Inferno but when I placed my order a Blazing Blue Pearl was on its way to the dealer so I chose that one. Now that I've watched this forum, quicksand would be my color choice.

They're going to have to, because there aren't many of them ;)

You're the one who disputed what I originally said about the rarer colors tending to hold their value more

Deaver 2" AAL in rear w/ axle shims. 285 x 75 r 16 Goodyear Duratracks. Wheelers steelies type B, AFE cold air intake. Sway bar delete. All Pro Apex front bumper (rattle canned Rustoleum primer + flat black). Plasti-dipped emblems. Mud flaps removed.
Not even an entertaining argument. The Go Pro mount is where the real value is.

No the GoPro mount is your standard black mount. Black mounts are everywhere. If it was painted Quicksand or Inferno, you might just see an increase in value
