I wish they'd bring back cool steel metallic like on mine. Seems like every other Toyota model had it for a while and other makes still have it even. Kind of a slate blue.

It is true that someONE might see an Inferno Red and say 'RARE, I WANT IT' be it a TRD PRO or a 3gen but I agree with DCSBFTMFW. For the most part one would have an easier time of selling their super white TRD PRO then they would their Inferno red TRD PRO. I for one 'like' the idea of the inferno red because of how little of them you see but would never buy it because it's not a 'timeless' colour. It's my opinion that people did not pay the extra money for the TRD Pro because of the OEM levelling kit :crapstorm:but for the rarity of the truck. Yes I would have paid the extra money for a pro if they were available in Canada but like everything else up here we get the shitty end of the stick.

All that said, I'm sure there are enough people who would want the Inferno Red or the Quicksand colours for the rarity of them that one wouldn't have much issue selling them. I think that would apply more in the used car market then in the new car market though since one can simply order their trucks in that colour.

Back to the TRD Pro...If the only available colour in that truck had been Inferno red it may have created a larger market and a populous that was willing to pay more for it because that combo would have made it even more unique.

    Just my uneducated guess. :D

Yeah, this is basically what I've been trying to get across. You're right that it isn't a timeless color, but I like it because it's not boring

I'm not sure why they did away with pyrite mica and spruce mica. Those were my two favorites!

To me, Quicksand is a much "safer" color than any God awful blue or red. My Tacoma is black, but if I were in the market for a new one I would absolutely go for Quicksand.

I saw all colors in person and in the end decided to wait out on the inferno, although quicksand was tempting!

I have had nothing but white, black, and silver cars my whole life and like many have commented, this seems like the safe option for selling it down the road. I originally wanted the quicksand, I saw it on the red pro runner and fell in love. I had the same thoughts like many on here that an orange car would never be the option for me, even the quicksand. I was talking to a few dealers and they all
Said that the most calls they get are on the inferno and quicksand, they seem like they are more sought after colors cause many dealers don't have many in stock. The dealer did a 500 mile search for me and found 32 inferno double can off roads compared too 190 mgm. I believe that this alone will increase the value of these trucks for the simple idea of being a rare color, I really don't mind how well they hold their value compared to other colors. I fell in love with the color and how well the black accessories like the steps and roof rack complemented the color. I also wanted a color that not many others had, I have seen nothing but white and silver tacomas for the last few days of ownership, it's always funny how you start seeing a lot of the same cars one you have one. I plan on keeping this for many years and I plan on buying a quicksand trd pro runner within the year.

I also placed mine next to my black trail runner and could not believe how much better it looks, this is why I plan on getting a quicksand runner soon. All my friends laughed when I told them I got an orange truck till they saw it and now they love the color, it's not much of an orange, it almost seems like they add a bit of red.

I love my inferno, but I get it might not be every one's cup of tea. Seems to be quite a difference in its popularity and acceptance by region. Here in CO, I had to drive to Boulder to find mine. closest 3 dealerships didn't have any more on lot. The dust and dirt in my neck of the woods tends to be in the general shade of my truck, which works out well for me. :)
