Tacoma is now 8 days old to me. I've added the sliders with steps, an Extang 2.0 tonneau cover, and a bed mat. I think that'll be all of the mods for now until I've driven it a bit (has less than 200 miles so far, and none off of pavement although not for long) and decided what it does or does not need. Truck seems pretty optioned out, actually. I may want some sort of front brush-guard/bumper setup at some point. Lift and tires likely won't happen until the OEM tires wear out, and that may be a while. Very happy with it. IMG_1788.jpg

That sucks, sorry to see it. I've seen insurance companies total a vehicle with that kind of damage. Any thoughts of looking into that and getting a replacement?

I envy that you were able to get the long bed. Do you know how hard those are to find particularly in the TRD OR package.

I was not aware of that, although did know that short beds were much more plentiful. This one was on the lot at the local dealership. I thought I wanted a Quicksand truck, and they did locate one identical to this but in that color, and without the premium sound system, at a dealership about 250 miles away, and said they could do a swap, but offered this to me for the price of the tan one, and, meanwhile, the more I looked at it, the better I liked the inferno color, so that's the way I tilted. No regrets.

Only thing I don't like about the DCLB configuration is that you cannot get it with a manual transmission. But I decided I cared about a long (actually, it's a standard bed) bed more than I did a MT.

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think you can get a MT with the Premium Tec package either. You would have had to sacrifice allot more than just the 6 foot bet for the MT

I do know that the MT can not be had with the JBL stereo, however I think the Prem/Tech can go with it (just sunroof, backup sonar, BSM)

I debated the same thing as well. The loss of JBL wasn't a major deal-breaker, however the shorter bed was. Gotta use that longbed for work!

Boy I'd sure feel bad if it's totaled. Loving the truck, but there's that unicorn out there if it needs replaced!

That's the one thing I don't have that I would of loved to of had on my truck simply because longer wheel bases have a better ride quality.

It's going to be okay , because of the great resale on the Tacoma it takes more than a little hail damage to total it out. They can make this look like it never happened

Truth. I was on a forest road and only rolled over a small rock on the road and it was enough to crack the weld seam on one of the steps. I had planned to get sliders anyway, this just sped up the process.

The grill is stock, but I removed the Toyota logo and replaced it with Andres Diaz devil-horns. I'd gotten them back in '11 and they were on my Tundra grill. When I traded it I found the OEM logo and kept the horns, thinking I'd hang them in my garage as a memento of the Tundra. After I brought the Tacoma home I was eyeballing it and damn if the logo didn't look very close to the same size. I got them and checked, and they were a perfect fit.

The anodizing on the horns has faded a bit. But they still look good, I think. I'll post a pic but have it on another device.

How was this grille put together? I want to put this on my car instead of the pro.
