Both of these are great posts about this. Thank you for them.

There is definitely a feeling of extreme gratification doing a mod like this because it's not too difficult yet the result, as we've all said, is very dramatic.

With all that said, I'm wondering if there is a quicker method. Basically, our time is so limited and since this type of mod is weather dependent, would it just be more efficient to either buy a second set of badges and do all the paint work in stages, then in under an hour, swap them out.

Or, and I know this is really not in the spirit of a true conversion, just buy black badges and swap them.

I just have to wonder how much our time is worth in the long run?

I also have to wonder what all the guys taking them off their truck on the forum are doing with them and how much they'd be willing to sell them for. I'd buy a use set if the price was right. Hell some guys might even give them away and just charge for shipping :boink:

Best looking chrome wheel I've seen in a while. Should look good on the truck.

I can't remember where I saw it, but the idea I think I'm gonna go with is similar to the black lettering on the tailgate. Just black decals that go over the badges. It's a neat look, where you can still see a little of the chrome, but black is the forefront. I'm probably going that route eventually.

I did this on mine until I get motivated enough to pull them off and paint them black. I'm pretty satisfied with how it came out.

Looks like Trail Gear Creeper Locks (They are polished aluminum). I ran a set on my previous jeep.

So....while looking for something else entirely (no, really), It appears that the fine folks at Cerakote have us covered.

Your Truck gun is supposed to match the truck......right?
