    Hey Mike,

Here's what I just posted to another guy that asked the same thing, and now I'm curious as hell to find out the answer.........he shot a pic of the sensor behind the emblem for me.

No, mines a 2017 without the TSS equipment.

So all that is mounted behind the OEM emblem? That's crazy. I thought it was a patch in the lower part of the grill. This is the first I've seen or heard of it being mounted there. I wonder if there are sensors that are visible from the front? They would be tiny, and could even be nearly invisible if they are behind plastic. My guess is, without doing any research, that the sensors detect metal like a true radar system, and are not visual sensors.

Maybe you could take that back assembly off to get a better idea?

Without any other information I would have to guess anything metal in front of that would interfere and might either not work or throw off the system.

I have to believe though there is a work around. What are guys doing with that sensor when they replace the OEM grill with an aftermarket like the Pro grill?

@RobP62 The Pro grilles have a rectanglar location at the bottom (you can kind of see it in my picture in post 7067) for the sensor. When I swapped to the Pro grille I moved my sensor down to there.

I believe you are correct that any metal in the way of the sensor will interfere with the radar functionality, and this actually may cause problems if going with certain aftermarket front bumpers with hoops.

I forget where I saw this, but I believe someone was making vinyl overlays for the front emblems on 2018s and did not have problems with that.

Ok, that's what I thought I remembered seeing. The "patch" at the bottom of the grill. So then I have to wonder then, what if you just moved the sensor to the bottom, center part of the OEM grill and to protect and hide it, put it behind a piece of black clear plastic, then you could replace the Toyota emblem with the Devil Horns.

This would be a completely custom mod, but that would be cool as hell.

I still have to believe that sensor can't be behind anything metal. I know the 2017 grill is. Or as least I know it bends like metal. I hit a mourning dove dead center on my emblem and it definitely deformed the grill just above it. However this all could be easily tested with a magnet .

If the 2018 is metal, then you'll have to cut it and add the plastic patch. Not sure how that would look.

Sometimes we have to let function outweigh form in the pursuit of customization.

Sounds a little complicated. Damn, I really liked the horns. Maybe a vinyl overlay of horns.

I believe the 2018 grille is plastic, so your idea may work. There were people in the Pro grille thread making their own protective piece for the sensor. Only thing is that it might look a little out of place to have a block at the bottom of the grille

hey guys. new to the inferno group. Been having my truck for almost a year. May be looking to do some upgrades. Im curious on seeing how it looks with chrome rims?
Everyone is going blacked out now and I may be interested in bringing back the chome look since my grill came chromed out already. Not sure how I feel about it though. Would love to see pics

Question, the letterings on your tailgate; is that matte black or glossy black?
And how did you get the orange lettering on your glove box and door trim?

The tailgate lettering is gloss. The interior and under hood lettering are vinyl decals I got off of ebay.

I’m getting ready to order some of these Bartact seat covers. Looks like they match your stock interior great and the fit looks good.

I also want to verify that you ordered them in black. I have samples and your covers look like what I thought their graphite color was going to look like installed. Good thing I seen your post before I ordered.

Well interesting. My email trail goes back to right before the actual order. The description I have lists black/graphite. So that makes no sense. Actually, now that I think about it, it does. I think I ordered black with graphite stitching, then had to call them to request the orange stitching at extra cost. I was a little underwhelmed by the limited amount of orange stitching. Particularly at the cost.

Yep, I just went and checked and I still have my swatches. Definitely black.
